Absolute regular been going Here since it was 1st in Pompano Beach off Federal Highway/US1. I’m a 5 Year Military U.S. Navy Disabled Veteran & a Retired U.S. Marshal of 25 Years in the Government. They’ve taken great super care of Me Here for many Years now especially with My Shampoo, Haircut & Straight Barber Razor Shave w/Hot Lather Shaving Cream, Hot & Cold Massaging Towels etc…Hector & the entire Staff/Employees also the entire Management & Teacher Staff have treated Me like Family for a very long time!

I had an amazing experience at FBA (nail technician program). My teacher Ms. Kay truly cares about our success in every possible way. She taught us technique to where you actually know what you are doing once you graduate. Staff is friendly and helpful. 10/10

I had a wonderful experience at this school. Not only did classmates become family, but all the staff members from reception, administration, instructors were all very helpful. This school is outstanding thanks to Imán Davis. A fine, very knowledgeable, and passionate instructor. Making Learning enjoyable and great experience to the students. Her professionalism is outstanding and the school should give her the recognition she deserves. Many students wouldn’t be as successful without her guidance. Come on by to get a cut from the students or come and have a tour of the school if you wish you succeed in the barber industry!

I like the...All of the Above! My name is Alicia Rooks, former student for Barber Stylist. I am proud to say that on Saturday, June 12th, I took my State Exam, and was so excited to know that I PASSED. I knew I would especially feeling comfortable after the extra help that Ms. Davis gave to assure so. Not only did she take time out to prep Monday - Wednesday, a week prior to my exam she made herself available to cater to my schedule to help me. I really admire her commitment, and dedication in loving what she does, and the concern for the students and being VERY thorough in her teaching! Thanks again Ms. Davis, your method of prepping is the best!!!

I had a great experience at this school from the front desk to the ladys cleaning the bathroom always kind always willing to help. Me. Alison was a great help with the finishing part of everything walking me threw step by step and explaining everything to the tee. She help guide me in the right direction. Mr. Rodriguez was a great instructor with out his guidance things would of been really hard out here but he is a great teacher.

I’m a recent grad at Fl Barber and honestly I love it. The administrators and instructors really care. I learned and did my first roller set here. I won 2nd place in a competition during my second week of school . Even after completing my hours I’m still in contact with them. Ms Allison she’s kind, professional, informative and helpful. The instructors do their best to prepare us for the salon. During the pandemic they reach out to me and even helped financially with the cares act. My advice to anyone would be to enroll but come determined. Stay focused, study and practice,practice,practice. People often say cosmetology schools don’t teach it’s students. But my response to that is always ask questions, go everyday although I understand things happen and so does the school. ESP at this time but definitely study home to prepare for the test. The students are nice too. We supported each other, studied & ate lunch together too. Their were some difficult to deal with but I remained focus. You may have a background and may even doubt getting your license but just go for it and have faith because everything will work out. God bless

After 3 years of struggling to finish cosmo school trying again at Florida Barber Academy was the best decision. I found a place where everyone was passionate about what they did. The staff always willing to guide and answer questions. Ms.Keels was great as an instructor, and Ms.Allison was everything I could’ve asked for as a mentor finishing school. She offered me guidance going into the real world, and prepping for state testing wasn’t easy, but I wasn’t alone! Not to mention I can’t make this up, I even received help with job placement! Very thankful and satisfied. 🙌🏾 p.s they are willing to help as long as you put in the EFFORT!

In the year I attended school at FBA they were working through a lot of changes. This made things a little rocky in places. With that being said the school is moving forward in a positive direction. The one staff member that stood out and offered me the most assistant was Allison Dyer in student services. She was always very quick to work through any problem with me and offered advice and information on any topic I brought to her. She was always inviting and pleasant. I went here for the first time today by a recommendation from a friend who raved about this place so I thought Id give it a try. I am so amazed at the perfect cut I received today; Mrs. Brown was the instructor and she was extremely knowledgeable and professional. She really listened to me and knew exactly what I wanted. I have very thick, curly hair (female), and she told the student about tips for cutting my hair that I have never heard anyone ever say before, and it is absolutely perfect!! Ive been to many different hair salons always searching for the best cut at an affordable price, and wow, this one only cost me $7.00!!! It was worth much more than that to me; I am so grateful to my friend for telling me about the Florida Barber Academy.

I just completed my 1200 hours of barber school @ FBA and I have to say i will really miss the friends i made there. In such a short period of time they became my family.The teachers were outstanding and kept things interesting. Theory was my fav part & I wanted to be there learning.Administration and the entire staff were helpful with questions on their end. Im very thankful for Ms Allison for helping me in the last part of my journey @school so i can be prepared for state board. I feel very confident that ill pass the exam and that was my whole purpose of school. 5 stars!!!

You can definitely learn a lot from this institution. The instructors were knowledgeable about the course material. Many times when my questions were beyond course material they were able to provide me with an answer. I was an evening student and found the school hours convenient for my schedule.

Ms. Allison is one of the best people I have ever met! Never judgmental , ALWAYS willing to talk and LISTEN. She guided me through the steps to taking the BARBER exam and I passed in less than 20mins after starting the test! It was almost too easy and she made the experience so much better! Thank you to ALL the staff there! Ms. Keishla and Ms Nina you know you guys are the BEST OF THE BEST holding me down since I started there. Ms Julie has been so supportive of me and always so positive love you! Ms Lazara holding it down for all the VA personnel such as myself THANK YOU! Ms Lebony is the BOMB! Ms. BROWN! ONE OF THE REALEAST people I have ever met! She is almost like a second MOM to me. Thank you Florida Barber Academy for my success and more to come! I am NOW taking COSMO program as well here so I am looking forward to passing that exam as well!

Attending Florida Barber Academy was a good experience. I gained relationships with students and staff thatll last for a lifetime. Ms. Lebony was helpful with finances. Ms. Allison Cartgrna was extremely helpful all around on anything I needed help with. She always made herself available to help. After I graduated, she still had my back and helped me figure things out. She went and goes above and beyond for the students of Florida Barber Academy.

This school is great, I started with the manicurist course and now I am doing a skin specialist, the staff is very helpful and the teachers are excellent, there is always someone to guide you and explain everything and that you are well prepared to provide your services. highly recommended, they can also help you get a scholarship or a student loan.

This review pertains to the “Stateboard examination prep course” provided by Ms. Davis: this preparation course is an excellent tool, that will get any barber prepared for the exam. She provides thorough information that covers all topics that appear on the exam. The study sessions are informative, rigorous and situationally relevant (I knew what topics to study diligently and which topics to gloss over). I was very prepared for the exam and felt comfortable taking the exam, which is a testament to Ms Davis’s Stateboard exam prep course. Great asset to Florida Barber Academy!

I’ve been going to the Florida Barber Academy since it was in Pompano Beach, Florida until They relocated to a bigger better facility in Plantation, Florida and I’m still going either once a month or once every other month for My Shampoo, Haircut and Hot Lather Clean Shaving with Hot Towels/Cold Towels! See I’m a Disabled Veteran of 5 Years in the U.S. Navy and then I’m Retired U.S. Marshal of 25 Years so They take care of Me There every time so I’m very grateful/thankful and appreciative for everything that They do for Me!!
