    Ive been here a couple of times before but just recently went again after not going for a few years. Victoria serviced me in this visit, and shes one of the main reasons Ill be making Silkpress Express my go-to spot even for simply a wash and blow. She was very nice and polite and gave me some good tips about my hair. And of course, did an amazing job on my hair.

They have silk scarfs, and bonnets and everyone go home with products to keep their hair moisturized. This business deserves a hair reward and trophy.     From the time you walk in you can tell the place is well old machine, timely, and expertise. Getting my hair washed was very thorough and calming, it’s been a while since I had my hair straightened so my curls were super tight, they were unfazed and got through my way with no issues. I came prepared to hear a scolding for deta gaming and recieved none. They have their craft perfected. I’m scheduling my next appointment after this review. Victoria and Tracy are amazing!!

    I had a great experience here! It was very relaxing. The environment was welcoming and the staff were friendly. This was my first silk express and all the technicians cared and treated for my hair with gentleness. I got the silk press package which included a wash, hydro condition, blow dry, trim, and styling. I loved how they educated me about my hair state, made sure I was satisfied, and also let me know how to maintain my hair for aftercare. I definitely recommend this place and will be coming back for all my silk presses!

    AMAZING JOB!!!!! I took my daughter here last week to get her hair silk pressed for her graduation pics and when I tell you they got it BONE STRAIGHT!!!! It’s was shiny, smooth and just made the color pop (her hair is pink). Just a fantastic job and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be back!!!

    I went in feeling nervous, due to a previous bad hair cut from another business, and left feeling phenomenal. I definitely found my new spot. Tracie and Kira were amazing. The vibe was excellent nothing but laughter and encouragement. I never seen so many women uplifting other women in a business. My hair was cut exactly how I wanted by Tracie and she styled my hair to perfection and all that for such a reasonable price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SPOT!!!!!

    I absolutely recommend anyone who is looking for excellent hair service to go to this place! Their customer service, their knowledge of hair and how to take care of any hair type, and their techniques and skills are amazing! I appreciate them as well because they try their best to have you in and out! They have provided me with the best silk presses Ive ever had. Normally, my hair wouldnt last one week with a silk press but the last three times that Ive been going my silk presses have lasted 3-4 weeks without hardly any needed maintenance.     My appointment was scheduled for 0930 doors was open on time and was taken straight to the back. I had the pleasure of having Ms. Tracy at the wash center in i must say it was amazing she took her time in making sure my hair was wash properly! Then had the opportunity to visit Ms. Parker who took care of drying and styling.. She made sure i was ok throughout the whole process held conversation with me, very friendly and welcoming.     It went great!! In and out in the time frame they promised. My stylist was Serene. I have thick, multi-textured hair that has not been to a professional hairdresser in over 5 years. They were thorough with washing my hair (hair so thick they washed it 6 times!) and polite over all. Cut and silk pressed it perfectly!! Got many compliments.     I was very happy with the service I had. The women were able to work me into an appointment at the last minute, and accommodate me, when there was traffic. From the moment I came in, I was showing the different products they have and there was no pressure to purchase anything. I had the pleasure of working this into my schedule, and I’m so glad that I did! Brianna was the woman that did my wash in the conditioning and blow dry, and Kyra was my blow dry, healthy trim, and stylish and wrap artist. I was very happy with the treatment I received from both women, and it stays busy! The location, go further, it’s not an inconvenience, and the front desk is extremely helpful as well! I wish I had came sooner, but I know I’m leaving feeling more myself, more like a woman again for 2023!

    I needed to get my hair done and didn’t have an appointment. I saw that Silk Press Express was accepting walk-ins until 3pm today. I came in and it was such a quick process. I was seen right away and Serene did such a great job on my hair! I received a shampoo and deep conditioning with steam treatment, a blow-out, trim, and press.

    I came to this salon after finding it on Google, and I’m so glad I did. I was a walk-in and was seen shortly after I arrived.     I was recommended by a friend and I was far from disappointed. This was my first time in a salon in about 9+ Years and my first time getting a silk pressed. The staff was amazing ! I got introduced on name basis of each stylist that was handling my hair. The atmosphere was very friendly. I felt very welcomed. Because this was my first time, they walked me through everything that was happening and gave me lots of options.     The ladies in the shop are very welcoming and courteous but they are very knowledgeable when it comes to hair and how to grow and treat your hair for better results after leaving the shop. At first, I was nervous about cutting my hair but the stylist cutting it was very patient and took time to instill some confidence that I would look good and I loved the results and so did everyone else around me, I got so many compliments. My second time I came, I was with a new stylist and she was just as warm and genuine as the last. When flat ironing, I didn’t feel any burns. And once again, I loved the results. Please visit the shop at least once, you won’t regret it!

    Brianna was amazing at doing my daughter, Sashas hair. My daughter wanted length. She applied clip ins that were so perfectly placed and hidden, that you couldnt tell where her real hair ended and clip in started. I will always request Brianna moving forward.     Had a great experience at Silkpress Express. Upon arrival the receptionist greeted me with a smile and sweet spirit. The first face of any business is very important and she was excellent. Once I made it to the back, my stylist introduced herself (Serene) and she also asked me about my hair & goal for the appointment. She listened and also suggested a treatment I needed. Her hair washing was an experience. Very relaxing and gentle. I was super impressed with the way she detangled my hair because I have really tangled hair.     Got to the Salon ten minutes before my appointment, I was welcomed by a staff on entry and I let them know I had an appointment. I was told to be seated, which I did. I waited an hour for an available stylist. I waited patiently as this was my first silk press and the salon was full. They work fast though, with the amount of clients they actually had. Some of there staff were definitely comical and keeps you entertained. They definitely create an environment where you would want to come back despite having an appointment and waiting. Would recommend others here! Definitely book your appointment online.

    Absolutely in LOVE with my hair! I usually get a relaxer, however since I am currently pregnant, I did not want to take the chances of using any chemicals for my hair. Instead, I opted for a silk press for the 1st time and I am so satisfied! I don’t think I’m ever going back to a relaxer after receiving such a wonderful experience at Lelene’s Beauty Bar!     I traveled all the way from South Beach to find this gem 💎 It’s surprisingly hard to find a salon to cater to natural hair in Miami and I haven’t had my hair done professionally in 7 years. I booked for their silk press, protein treatment and scalp massage. Yes, it’s a long way from home; 3 buses and almost two hours travel and I do not regret it. Y’all… this is my spot!! The way your hair and scalp (Wooooh! 😩) is tend to strand by strand, from the wash and steam conditioning alone. You’re given hair care knowledge from the moment you sit in the chair. The ladies are extremely nice, attentive and 100 percent share the same concerns you do. Don’t be afraid to ask questions here! These ladies practice what they preach and the service and results show. I’ll be here every two to three weeks for sure.

I was able to book an appointment for a Silk Press the day prior easily from the booking page on their website and when I showed up for my appointment the receptionist was welcoming and warm and reviewed the details of my appointment with me. I went on a day they offer specials for silk presses.I was serviced by Kyra who absolutely made my experience a wonderful one. She explained all the steps she was taking as she did them and gave me tips and recommendations for continuing care for my sensitive scalp at home. She was knowledgeable, kind, professional, and hilarious. This appointment was both relaxing and joy-filled.Kyra washed and did my hair carefully, provided an amazing scalp massage, and answered all of my questions through the process. I am very pleased the service I received and my hair style.I am looking forward to my next Silk Press appointment with KyraIn regard to the atmosphere of the shop, it was clean and spacious and welcoming. There is ample parking and I found the shop easy to locate.In regard to the booking process, it was very easy and accesible to find the service offerings, prices, appointment scheduling and service durations online. The shop accepts various methods of payment including Apple Pay, which is my go-to.Overall, I had a wonderful experience and will be back in Kyra’s chair again.

I had an appointment but waited for about 30 minutes, most likely Bc it was a Saturday and they were busy.     This is my third visit and every time I come, its a hit. They can be jam packed and still take their time on your hair. I always come in for a silk press and lord knows that my hair is super thick but they make it so flat that people would think that I permed my hair. This place is about 50 minutes away from my house but I wouldn’t mind coming because of such good results. Highly recommended.

    Staff is always friendly and personable. Salon is clean and the atmosphere is relaxing. My experiences during my most recent and previous visits were very different, but the time period was about a year apart. The difference I think was communication. My issue is with the detangling process after the hair wash and the blow dry before flat ironing. The common practice seems to be to wash all of your hair in the bowl at once, then to use a wide tooth brush to detangle, but with natural hair, I find that this method only tangles the hair further, making the detangling process painful, causing lots of breakage. I left once with lots of broken hair toward the front of my head and a small bald spot because of the rough detangling. I could feel and hear them tear hair out of my head. Depending on who is doing your service, the blow drying was also too rough. The end process is always nice, but you see the damage soon after. I still think they should rethink the way they approach the washing and detangling of natural hair over all. No one should have to ask to not have their hair torn to pieces. Per other reviews, I’m not the only one who has had this experience. If you’ve been natural long enough, you know our hair needs patience and a gentle touch.During my most recent visit, I spoke with my stylist ahead of time and explained that I am prone to hair loss due to a medical condition. She took her time carefully washing and detangling my hair. I could feel her come to a knot, stop, and carefully work the hair free. I was so impressed with her patience because I have A LOT of hair. My other stylist Tracey was very careful and thorough with the blow drying and flat ironing process. When I tell you she made sure EVERY hair was straight. She also communicated very well to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. The only other thing that irked me was that I wasn’t allowed to enter the salon until 9:30 and my appointment was at 9:30. They could open at least 5-10 minutes prior to the first appointment instead of having us standing outside sweating, especially when there are people inside that see their clients waiting. Just a courtesy for clients that show up a little early to respect a stylist’s schedule.

    This is my second time using silkpress express to straighten my hair. This is a real silkpress, not just a regular wash and blow dry. I am most impressed with the all of the services and attention to hair care that I receive. My hair is washed, treated with steam, trimmed and straightened.     I found Silkpress Express by chance searching on Instagram when I was looking for a last minute place to get my daughters hair done for back to school. We drove 45min from Broward to get here. On arrival we were told that they were not taking walk ins that day due to COVID but Lelene (the owner) was so nice and made an exception to fit us in. We were very grateful and extremely happy with the service. My daughters hair came out beautiful and now this is the only place she wants to go. Coral did my silkpress for my prom and everyone said i looked really pretty when i got to the venue so that’s a plus! my second time getting a silkpress was just as good and Coral did my hair again.     Love this place. It’s clean and calm. They’re serious about safety, friendly and conversational, and probably the only place I’ve not been lectured on my hair. (Granted, I’m natural now, and my hair has never been healthier.) I only took a star off because I like to schedule my appointments online where they give you an option of who you’d like to do your hair. Once I asked for Lelene to do it, and when I arrived I was assigned to someone else without notice. While I was in the chair, Lelene came walking in. It was obvious that there was some disconnect between the time that she had planned not to work, and the appointment I made specifically with her. It left a bad taste in my mouth, but I ended up meeting 2 other stylists there that are also very talented and pleasant, so that “taste” quickly faded. I guess I was just upset at the time because Lelene is incredible at silk presses, and I wanted that special touch, but I love me some Kyra so it all worked out.

You can see all of the pictures and videos there. The products are nourishing and sulfate-free. Also you can purchase all of your hair care needs there and books that promote natural hair for kids. I love my satin scarf and bamboo brush. It helps my silk press last longer. Ask about the protein and moisture treatments. Also the silk press is 75 but it includes steaming, free trim, and optional edges in the styling chair.

    My overall experience was amazing. I am in love with my hair. The way my hair bounces everyone is amazed at my hair. My hair hasnt been straighted in almost 4 years. I will be back to have another silk press

    If you’re looking for a solid stylist, look no further! I have been coming to Lelene’s Beauty Bar for 5 years. I don’t trust ANYONE with my hair except for the ladies of Lelene’s Beauty Bar. Her staff is professional and the salon is very welcoming. Lelene has hands that work magic and have made my natural hair grow and stay healthy! She knows what she is doing and cares about healthy and natural hair, not just extensions. Her braids are laid flat! Her sew ins, bonds ins, lace fronts and closures blend and look natural.
