First thing first, Shelby is the best hairstylist/artist I’ve ever encountered. I don’t usually write reviews but I’ve been going to Shelby since 2020 and I never leave disappointed. She is professional. She is one of the nicest people to ever exist. Enjoy pictures attached: before & after. I usually cut my hair every 6 months but the balayage is new on virgin hair (no color for 2 years!). Prices are comparable to the world’s current economy and other salons but with Shelby, you get what you pay for. The quality of her products and work is unmatched. 100000000/10 recommend!

I dont know how else to thank Shelby for the magic she has done to my hair! The pandemic last year has run me ragged, both mentally and physically. In fact it was to the point I box dyed my platinum hair black! I was dealing with breakage (literally the back half of my hair was practically cut in half from it) and complete damage. You can actually see it in the first picture what I was dealing with, and the next three is what she did! We discussed some cool options on what we could do to fix this and she did what she does best! She is so incredibly sweet and makes you feel comfortable in her clean space. GO TO HER!! Shes amazing and cant wait to go back!

Update 6/24/23: Finally got a Keratin treatment with Shelby! She seriously never ceases to impress me with her skills. My hair looks amazing after the treatment and a cut. She is the only stylist I trust to cut my hair, always trimming only what needs to go. My hair is healthier than ever, thank you Shelby!I had a fantastic first experience at Shelby‘s salon. I got the henna brow service and my brows came out better than I expected. I will definitely be coming back to try out some hair services.UPDATE! I finally decided to do something new with my dark hair. I got a balayage done and the results were stunning! Shelby is truly an expert at her craft, I was beyond impressed with the results. I can’t wait to go back!

As a 42 year old man who has never colored his hair other than a cheap supermarket-bought box color, I was jumping out of my comfort zone when I decided to have a profession put in some fun blue tones. Shelbys knowledge of her craft and talent at her art medium is matched only by a rarely seen level of professionalism. She made me feel totally calm and at easy. I didnt know how to explain what I wanted, but she understood perfectly and what she did exceeded my high expectations. Her studio is extremely clean and she follows COVID-19 guidelines to a T. Communication with her, both directly and with her reservation system is perfect, and she even let me know that she had a cancellation and offered to get me in sooner. I wholeheartedly recommend Shelby and Salon 1738 to anybody, whether you need an up-do for a wedding, color and a trim, or if youre a Father of two going through your mid-life crisis and decide to go for that trendy punk rocker look that you never did when you were 17. Very happy client here. Will definitely be a returning customer. My wife has an appointment next week for a cut and then a color appointment a week after that. If you are on the fence, please take this as a sign to book with Shelby ASAP! Seriously run, don’t walk. HIGHLY recommend! From the moment I walked in I was treated with respect and kindness. She was honest when consulting my hair goals/wants and even suggested a different hair mask that would be better suited for my concerns. She genuinely cares about her clients whether you’re brand new or been coming here for years. Probably one of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten and I am extremely picky when it comes to my hair as I’ve had some bad experiences in the past. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time and even spent time teaching me about my hair and the best way to keep it healthy. It’s been a couple months and my hair still feels fabulous. It was a blessing to find this place and I definitely will be back for my next cut!

Not only that, but I didnt have to sit there for three hours which can be tough for me. The salon is adorable and the sink where she washes your hair is SO comfortable! Great experience.

Shelby always does a wonderful job. I have known her for about 10 years now. She started out doing my moms hair and occasionally mine. She is now my full time stylist as she is close to home now that I moved. She never rushes through your appointment and is meticulous with her work. If something isnt right to her she will fix it. Even if youre not 100% she wants to make sure you leave happy. Recently she was able to take my hair from purple and pink to brunette and blonde highlights without damaging my hair. My hair feels just as good if not better after stripping color from it. She knows the limits of where she can push your hair and not.

I am blown away by Shelby’s talent! I found her on a whim and decided to book with her since she had great reviews - and I can definitely see why. I explained what I wanted my hair to look like and what I wanted to avoid, and she took the time to explain the process to me. She told me it would take multiple visits to achieve what I’m wanting and the reason why, which I appreciated so much. I’ve always left other salons unhappy with my results because I would explain to them what I wanted and show them photos for inspiration, and they always assured me they can do it right then and there, but it never turned out right. From the moment I sat in Shelby’s chair, she set me up with proper expectations and we’ve already booked our next appointment to continue our second service! She’s also just the sweetest person and very personable. I’m so happy I finally found my lifelong stylist!

Wow. In my mid 50s, going to a salon every 3 weeks to get my roots done was a chore I was getting tired of doing. Then I found Shelby. She suggested lightening my very dark brown hair. I was really nervous. I thought there was no way it wouldnt turn out brassy or some weird color if she did it all in one visit. I was wrong. I love it. It still surprises me when I look in the mirror because it is such a drastic change. I have a feeling I could probably get an extra 2 weeks, if not more, before I have to get a retouch. Thats HUGE for me. Not only that, but my hair is healthy and soft. Shelby has excellent technical skill, and takes time to do it right. Very, very, pleased.

Loved my consultation with Shelby. I really liked the fact that she does a test strand on your hair to see if its possible for your desired expectation, instead of just scheduling to just talk about what you want and hope it turns out right. We went over every Avenue in the 20 min consultation. From the color, to the what can be possible and the what if it doesnt turn out one way that youre ok with it turning out another way. She wants you to be sure of whatever your decision is and what to expect. Shes very thorough, right down to the products, the price of what youre wanting and the condition of your hair, to what to expect and discussing how you want it (all over or subtle). I felt very comfortable with what we decided and even liked my strand test results at only 15 mins of testing it. I have officially scheduled my appointment with her to get my hair done and Im truly excited to have Shelby do it. Cant wait to post before and after pics.Im back and AMAZED by the outcome of my hair. Whole new look and cut for me and I truly LOVE IT! Shelby is a hair goddess I swear. Shelby is the ONLY one that I will let touch my hair. I have lonnngggggg hair that can be frizzy and unruly all the time. When Ive visited other salons in the past they usually take one look at my hair and cry- but not Shelby! She was excited to work with it! Came in on my first visit and ended up doing an vibrent pink and purple color melt that turned out flawless ! The most compliments Ive ever received on my hair before!!!!! If your even thinking about doing anysort of color you can trust Shelby! Shes a true artist and can blend colors like a beast. Ive come here multiple times and each visit ahe outdos herself and I leave happy and amazed! Shelby makes an effort to keep you comfortable as well with her friendly atmosphere. Shelby is an absolute god-send! I just recently moved to the area and was nervous to find a new stylist in the area. I am a very icey blonde and not everyone knows how to handle this color properly. My hair looks amazing thanks to her (my roots were super grown out when I went to see her). I also came back for a hair extension service. I am very familiar with extensions and had them for years and when I tell you I literally can’t tell when my hair ends and the extensions begin, I mean it. I am so happy that it took me one shot to find my hair dresser here. Also, and this is just a bonus but they first time I went to see her she said “What do you want to watch?! I have Netflix, Disney+, we can watch a Christmas movie.” This was such a pleasant surprise. Shelby is absolutely amazing, I’m so happy to continue to use her for all of my future hair services.
