    I’m so glad to discover this cozy salon in the middle of Lake Worth. Firstly, I was fascinated to see how gentrified Lake Worth area is. Then visiting Lotus Star Salon was such a delight. They started off the service with a complimentary aroma therapy and neck massage. Kendra, hairstylist whom I tried the very first time was amazing. She gave me good advice on hair care and did a phenomenal job on the haircut and color. They also served drinks with a choice of coffee, water or wine. Overall, I was truly happy with my service!

    I cannot emphasize enough how incredible this place is!Tara is an absolute blonde guru who clearly put a lot of thought into the client experience at her salon. Between the complimentary glass of wine, pre-service neck massage, and lavender eye covers at the shampoo bowl it feels as if you are at the salon in an upscale resort (minus the snobbish environment that tends to go with it).Tara and Dani (and Tululah & Henny) always have such an upbeat and uplifting demeanor that makes my 3-4 hour appointments fly by!The consistency and detail of Tara’s work is unmatched. During my consultation with her, we discussed what I was looking to achieve and she gave me a comprehensive break down of how we were going to get there in order to protect the integrity of my hair. Not only does she knock it out of the park every single time, my hair is still so healthy.

    I came across this salon while exploring the area. I absolutely loved the vibe as an outsider and wanted to try it out. Hands down the best experience Ive had at a salon. Tara made you feel at home and knows her stuff. This is the place for both women and men! I highly recommend coming here!

    I love how cute and quaint the salon is. My stylist was very laid-back, listen to everything I asked, and did an amazing job probably one of the best haircuts Ive received ever. Its full of beautiful art, and all the pricing is fair and reasonable my quality work. I plan to come back here. Just look at the difference from before and picture to the left and after with a picture with a painting behind me! The quality speaks for itself.

    I wanted to share my experience with Tara at lotus hair salon. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by these amazing ladies that make you feel so welcome and wonderful the moment that you arrive. I went in because I love to have my hair colored, including highlights, and low lights, as well pink highlights. Every time I go in, I have the best time of the ladies treat me like royalty. I really also appreciate the shoulder and scalp massage with essential oils and all the ambience. I will Definitely be back for hair styling, coloring, and highlights. They definitely have my business.

    I’ve had my hair cut by Kendra twice so far and have absolutely loved it each time!! I’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to my hair but Kendra has me looking like celebrity each time. The whole appointment is truly a relaxing, spa-like experience. They start with a neck and shoulder massage, the shampoo chairs have a foot rest, and they put a warm pack over your eyes during the conditioning scalp massage. As a mama of two young kids, I feel completely rejuvenated when I leave and think, “I need to come here more often!” Highly highly highly recommend this amazing salon.

    I never leave reviews, so this means a lot when I do. My experience at Lotus Star Salon was exceptional. Starting with the welcome by Tara & Dani!!! Felt right at home. Been looking for a hair stylist for a while and I finally found an excellent one. Tara is extremely knowledgeable in the hair industry. She knows her stuff yall. From color, to highlights & low lights, to balayage vs foil or vice versa, to a killer blow out, Tara is your girl! Not to mention making you feel Wonderful & Special.     LET ME TELL YA! This is the place to come if you need a haircut. Tara and her team are amazing and very talented. Such a friendly environment where they make you feel amazing.     Ive gotten my haircut twice by Tara now. Her salon is clean, tastefully decorated and has a welcoming and upbeat energy. After offering me something to drink I sat down in the chair and she gave me a great neck massage (!) before my wash cut and blow-dry. Ive loved the way she cut my hair - she knows how to style to fit the face and is accommodating of personal preference but isnt afraid to give her professional 2 cents so you dont walk away with something thats not right for you. 10/10 recommend!

    Tara has been my hairdresser for over 5 years and I honestly cannot imagine trusting anyone else. Her salon Lotus Star has the best relaxing and fun vibe and her products and hair color line is the best around. If you need a great stylist with incredible vision, go to Lotus Star!     The best salon experience I’ve ever had!! From the moment I walked in I immediately felt a welcoming, peaceful vibe. The ambiance is serene and decor is fabulous. Laura is an awesome hair artist!! She is so personable and listens to what you envision for your hair and makes it happen. My hair color came out amazing (all grays gone) and the cut and style were exactly what I was asking for!! Can’t forgot to add that cleanliness and professionalism also included!! Highly recommend!!     Really amazing experience!     I love this place! This was my third visit, seen Skylar today, she did a wonderful job and she is such a lovely woman. Laura is a superb stylist, she really listens to what you want, and has great ideas if you want them. The atmosphere is calm and cheering, peaceful.     Laura, the owner, and Barry are both amazing, friendly and artistic people. Was referred there by one of my girlfriends, whose hair always looks great.Stopped in while I was in the area and was able to discuss what I wanted and see what they could do since it has been quite a while since I had anything done to my hair. Made an appointment to see Barry and was pleased that Laura had already filled him in on what we discussed.The salon is cozy and cute and its nice to feel welcomed and not rushed. Also great to see stylist who work together to make sure the customer looks and feels great when they leave.Thank you both so much for an amazing color and cut! Look forward to my next visit.

    Saltlight Salon is a wonderful place. I recently moved to the area and finding a good hair stylist is always difficult to do. I have moved many times in my life and I can tell you it takes time to do this and usually several attempts. Well for this move walking into Saltlight Salon was the right choice! From the minute I walked in I felt at home. Laura greeted me with such warmth. She talked to me and took the time to understand me. I just had my second haircut there and love it! A few people walked into the salon during my haircut and each person was greeted so nicely by both Laura and Barry. What an amazing salon!

    I just want to say that Kendra was fabulous today as I was a complete mess. I’ve experienced so many bad haircuts over the past 2-3 years at different establishments that I was very anxious and Kendra was completely understanding and patience with me.     Barry got me in last minute on the same day. Laura did an excellent job on my hair and sent me home with sample product. Very friendly staff (owners really). Cozy, adorable, welcoming & relaxing studio. Great cut, very reasonable in price. A mile from my house. Id give 5 stars if they also had plant based products but overall, very satisfied. I will go back and highly recommend this place.

    I am fairly new to the area and hadnt found a new person to do my hair. I found Saltlight Salon since it was so close to my house. I saw Barry and he was amazing! I showed him a picture of the kind of cut I wanted and he was able to give me the perfect cut. I went in with hair down my back and walked out with a super cute and fun bob!     Laura is a talented, experienced and careful color genius, especially with removing golds and getting to cool blonde tones. She is possibly the best colorist for cool blondes in Palm Beach. She also does my extremely high quality tape-in hair extensions which look and feel completely natural and stay in for a long time. I always appreciate the personalized care; she is warm, funny and caring every time. The salon is small town cozy but with all the know-how (or more) of the posh, bigger salons in the area. My hair has gotten a lot healthier since Ive been going to the salon. Its worth the trip to If you are a perfectionist: she will understand what to do, and get you to perfect, whatever it takes.

    What a wonderful, relaxing place to get a haircut. Both Barry and Laura are so kind and really work hard to make Saltlight different from your typical, chaotic salon. The space itself is beautiful and artistic, which fits in nicely with the local coffee shops and bookstores in the area. Prices are very reasonable; I didnt think I could afford such a lovely haircut on a graduate student budget. Will definitely be returning and spreading the word about this gem!

    This place is amazing! Laura, the owner and Barry both worked on me with very little notice before I had a job interview. They made suggestions, consulted with me about my lifestyle and made a terrific change in my life and routine, all with a keratin treatment and a great new salon I really felt comfortable in.They are both so warm and nurturing and realized I needed something low maintenance and they made it happen. At times, they both worked on me and I was there for HOURS so they could finish the work on me the day before an interview.I will be there tomorrow and cannot wait to see what Laura does this time!

    When the hair stylist I had been going to for 12 years closed, I was in need of a new place to get my cut. Being that I am picky about where I go to get my hair styled, and refuse to go to any Supercuts, Sports Clips, or [Insert generic hair cut franchise here], I wanted to go somewhere that I would be able to go indefinitely -- and was close to my house. Fortunately, I found that place with Saltlight Salon.I discovered Saltlight when I decided to search on Yelp for a good place that was close to my house, as opposed to my office. I made an appointment through Yelp, and found my first experience to be great. The location is a quaint, modest retail space across from Revelry and next to Common Grounds Coffeehouse on S J Street.Laura, whos the owner as well as one of the hairstylists, was fantastic. Very kind and sweet, Laura styled my hair the way I requested. Ive been returning every few weeks for a hair cut ever since.The fact Saltlight is only a few blocks from my house makes my selection all the better.     Absolutely loved my experience at this salon! Got a beautiful and fast blowout for a wedding I attended this weekend. The salon is so pretty and welcoming inside.     Lauren is EXCELLENT AT COLOR AND CUTS. She has years of experience and knows her craft. She is definitely an artist and her shop is a good example of it just adorable.     I went for a well needed color and cut and was absolutely WOWd by everything at Saltlight. From the moment I walked in, to the moment I walked out, everything was fantastic. Jodi gave me the freshest color, trim, and style after too many months without it. I have had my hair colored in multiple cities (and countries!) in the last few years and Jodi is the best colorist I have worked with! I just love this place. The atmosphere is super welcoming and the gorgeous paintings and decor make it bright and uplifting inside. I don’t want to go anywhere else! This is Palm Beach’s hidden hair gem.

    I wish I could give 6 stars! Ive been looking for a new stylist since my former salon moved. The hair experience, to me, is more than just the way I look when I leave. I want to be in a comfortable space with nice people who care about their clients. When I walked into Saltlight this morning Laura and Barry both greeted me like I was an old friend instead of a stranger. They immediately made me feel welcome. The salon itself gives a funky, artsy vibe. Its cool and clean and full of positive energy. Barry asked me some questions about my hair, my hair habits, preferences and style choices before he looked through some pictures I brought with me. Ive gone to some of the most expensive salons in the Palm Beaches. I grew up in my grandmothers salon. There are some indicators of a quality hair cut and Barry had them all. He took his time, asked more questions and honestly listened to my answers. He gave me confidence in his skills throughout. Im in desperate need of a color but didnt want to commit to that before the cut (booking my color now). Instead of root-shaming me and hard selling the service, Barry gently mentioned my color and opened the conversation to discuss it. We chatted comfortably the whole time. I didnt feel rushed out or like it was taking forever. And my hair... Its perfect! Im growing my hair so it was very heavy with long chunks in all the wrong places. Now its cute! Its a very, very good quality cut. Its trendy but classic. It looks light and healthy. Somehow Barry picked up on my styling choices too... He didnt make it too poofy or over done. This is exactly what I want in a haircut and blow-dry and I honestly expected to have to ask for a little more off here, a little less bounce there. It is perfect! Ive never written a review this long and rarely review a good experience but I cant communicate enough how pleased I am with the atmosphere, welcoming friendliness and with my hair. I cant wait to go back to my new old pals and get my color! Thanks Barry and Laura!!!!

    Amazing, amazing, amazing. Thank you so much, Skylar! I will update this review with pictures once I take a few. I went from an ombré that I hadn’t touched in two years to a gorgeous red with great dimensions that I am in love with. I knew it was going to be a big ask given the coloring I had and Skylar delivered. As for the salon, it has such a great vibe! It’s eclectic, it’s artsy. It’s clear this is a neighborhood place where everyone knows everyone and yet it’s still so welcoming. I found my new spot!

    Had the most wonderful experience at Saltlight! I was a walk-in on a very hot afternoon…I was greeted with a smile and a cold glass of water from Barry. I’ve had a foto of a new do on my phone for ages and finally got up the nerve to cut my hair. Barry first asked me about my lifestyle (if I use product, blow dry, work out etc.) and pointed out that the “carefree” style I wanted actually would require work to maintain. So he cut my hair to a similar length and added a few layers to emulate the style in an easy to maintain way. I was going quite gray, and inquired about coloring options. Once again, highlights or permanent color would require upkeep, so Barry suggested a semi-permanent color and used a lighter brown over my gray that would grow out without a harsh line. The salon itself is so bright and cheerful… (fantastic sun mural on wall) and décor is fun, music was calm, and can’t say how enough how welcoming Barry made me feel…very friendly and upbeat. He brightened up not only my day, but my whole demeanor as I left with shiny, bouncy hair and a smile.

    Barry McGava is now at Saltlight Salon on J Street in Lake Worth. Barry is fantastic with both men’s and women’s cuts and color (he does my hair Andy husband’s hair), he turns your dream hair into reality. So glad he is at this new salon.
