I have been coming to Salon West, West Bay, for almost 10 years now to see Val and she never ever misses the mark with my hair! I have super dark hair and she is able to get me looking blonde and bright in a healthy, low-maintenance way. It’s a bonus that she is so sweet and fun to talk to as well! She really makes her clients feel like family. The salon is always clean and filled with smiling faces. Overall I look forward to getting my hair done every few months because of how amazing Salon West is!

I have been a client of Salon West of Largo for the past 6 years with Valerie being my stylist. The entire salon is top notch, professional and tons of talent under that roof.Valerie in particular has managed to get my hair back to a healthy state after years of other stylists over-processing and damaging my hair. Ive been going to this Salon West on East Bay in Largo for several years now. Val is my hairdresser, and I have to say she is the best hairdresser I have ever had. I have some pretty tricky color combinations (purple - yes, purple - and a couple of different highlights, plus letting my own hair color come through) and getting it just right takes some hair wizardry. Nobody ever quite got it just right - until Val. Shes the hair magician! Thank you, Val, for everything!

11/10 would recommend this salon! My stylist is always Sarah Mammolito and she does phenomenal work. She always listens to your concerns and what you’re looking for, but will always encourage you to try something new if that’s what you’re looking for. I went in today to get my blonde balayage and hair trim and decided to go a little shorter than normal with added bangs. Sarah is always fully supportive and guides her clients in the best direction for them. Needless to say, she always knows what she’s talking about! I’m in love with my hair and always have a pleasant time at Salon West. It is a very clean and beautiful salon with a very pleasant staff and a relaxing environment. :)Some samples of Sarah’s beautiful work over the last few years attached. :)

I’ve gotten highlights, balayage, changed my hair color completely from purple, to red, to pink, short hair cuts or just a trim. I have not had one single disappointment going here. I saw Sharon (aesthetician and massage therapist) for the first time. Had my first massage. My 6-8th facial. She was fantastic! The massage was relaxing and deep tissue and very helpful to my mid and low back pain. The facial felt wonderful - the benefits increasing over the next 48+ hours. It’s now been 10 days and my skin is glowing, firmer, looks lovely. I will be back to see Sharon and will recommend her to friends and family. UPDATE 1 OCTOBER 2020:Ive been here several times since my first visit and I keep coming back. I chose a lower level stylist because I am a guy and just need basic cuts. The person I get my haircut with is still much better than any barbershop Ive been to. I highly recommend coming here and I keep asking for the same level 1 stylistCOVID:It is my understanding that this salon management will not open up to 100% (even though they legally can if they want) and choses to remain at 50% I do not understand this from a business standpoint, because the girls who work here are not working full time because of this business decision. Who wants less money? No one. People are struggling.------Might I recommend having one or 2 days a week where maybe you remain at 50% (for the comfort of certain customers/workers) and the other 5 days be open full? This way the workers there dont have to suffer (be penalized) from part time pay and customers can have more opportunity to schedule. That is a smart and balanced approach that works for everyone. We all have bills to pay and can do it with blending safety with business sense.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PREVIOUS POST:First time visit on 25 March 2019 after lunch. The rest of the family has been coming here for quite a while so they convinced me to come here to give it a try.So for a couple years Ive been going to a barber shop down Ulmerton. The turn over and lack of attention to detail at the barber shop prompted me to come here. While the price is about $11 more here, they actually take their time and are way more professional here. I actually left here looking more professional because my hair was even. Something I havent seen before!Will come back. The price for mens cut was $25 and well worth it. They took a good 45 minutes and did not rush it nor skimp on services like the barbershop shop did all the time.

I have been coming to this salon for several years and the services I’ve received have always been stellar. Marina is a great stylist with a personality to match. Last year, I made the decision to finally cut my hair into an edgy, super short pixie bob and she transitioned my hair into that style beautifully and seamlessly. I would also recommend Clayton, who I’ve used most recently. He did a great job with shaping up my cut and giving it a fresh vibe. You don’t find higher-end salons this close to the beach. Salon West on Walsingham and their sister salon at Seminole Center are both great!

I could not recommend this place enough. Today was my first visit and it was fabulous from start to finish. I truly felt pampered. I walked in and was offered a beverage while I waited and my services were performed. Alexa was my stylist and she was FABULOUS. She took the time to listen to my concerns about my hair health, talked with me about styling habits, and did a truly thorough consultation. She was always smiling and relaxed, and set a wonderful atmosphere around the front desk.I had a massage from Shanteria and she was fabulous! I had quite a bit of length taken off, maybe 7 or 8 inches. She was great! From the shampoo to the cut everything was great! I love Salon West and have been going here for years. Highly recommend.

The stylists are very professional and listen to you. They also give you a quote $ before they start any procedure which leaves you with no surprises at the check out counter. Completely thrilled with the color and cut from Lyndsey at Salon West Walsingham. I was so far past getting my hair colored that my gray roots were about 6 inches and I was ready to change color from red to brunette.She did such a phenomenal job! I was in Florida for one of my best friends wedding and was in need of a good cut and style. After looking through many reviews I decided to give the Salon West in Largo a try. Let me tell you, I was not dissappointed! I was given amazing service. They didnt have any walk-in times available the night I came in, but they made sure to give me an appointment for the next day at a reasonable time! My appointment was with Nicole and she was fabulous! She discussed the differences in the hairstyles I was looking at and helped me to pick a good one for myself. It was super easy to talk with her because she came across friendly, while professional. She was quick, but efficient in styling and it looked amazing when it was done! If Im ever in Largo in need of a haircut again Ill definitely be visiting again!

I couldnt be happier with my experience at Salon West. The salon itself is comfortable and clean with an upscale atmosphere. The staff were all very attentive and accommodating. The young man who checked me in and out was especially so, as was Nicole, my stylist. She was very knowledgeable and professional. I was unsure of exactly what I wanted and I felt she was genuinely interested in helping me find something that I would be happy with and that I would be able to maintain. I was especially pleased with the results of my foils. The color looks completely natural and I have already received several compliments. Ive had mixed experiences here but Tara is great! She always takes the time to listen to my ideas and provide suggestions for what would work best with my hair. I recently had the best service (10/17/17) with her when she did my highlights. Her scalp and hand massages are to die for! My cut looks fantastic and highlights were exactly what I wanted. Daniel, at reception, was also great and is wonderful at multitasking.

Before Christmas travels I went to get CND Shellac Nails and Jamie was wonderful! She did a great job with the manicure part and with the application of the shellac. I dont do shellac very often as it is pricey. But the next time I do need that particular service I will go back and ask for Jamie. I have had my nails shellacked several times since moving to Florida 18 months ago and was never happy with the results until Jamie. Thank you for taking such good care of me!

The entire staff at Salon West is so friendly and attentive as soon as you walk in. I had Sophia and she was amazing. She knew exactly what I wanted when I explained to her what I was thinking. I have been a client of Jennys for almost 10 years at this location and their prior location just down the road. I love the salon. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff is friendly and professional. I am always met with the offer of a beverage (water, coffee, soda or WINE) and there are even snacks available which comes in handy when I being my teenage daughter. I love the hand and arm massage I get while my hair is processing. Jenny is an amazing stylist. I dont even tell her what I want anymore...I just tell her to do what she thinks I need and it always turns out perfect. She now now does my daughters hair as well. Its great to have a stylist that also consults when my daughter has a crazy idea. The stylists at Salon West attend ongoing color classes and other workshops to continue improving their craft. I drive 45 minutes each way every 7-8 weeks to visit this salon and Jenny!

Great salon, wonderful staff, healthy products. I was a client at the Salon West Walsingham location for several years. I even continued for the first few years when I moved to Sarasota but the drive became too much...the ONLY reason for leaving. I cant say enough good things about my stylist, CLAYTON! He is not only great at what he does but hes a dream to work with. He listens! Hes patient and discusses what you want. He always gave me great feedback on the health of my hair without feeling like he was pushing products. A very holistic POV on your hair. I highly recommend him! The location and traffic is a bit of a trek if you dont live in that area but worth it if you have the time.

I started going to this salon on a recommendation from my AAA office manager 7 years ago. Heather is a terrific master colorist and stylist and is a real pro at handling my extremely baby fine hair. I have never once thought about trying a different salon. All the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. There is a well stocked variety of upper end hair care products as well as Jane Iredale make up. The place is very clean, well decorated and hosts beverages and munchies if you are needing an energy lift.

Well, Salon West Largo was a refreshing and wonderful find. From the time I walked in, I felt special and like I was the only client in the salon. They gave me a tour of the facility and offered fabulous refreshments. Then, Amanda gave me the best haircut and color Ive had in months! She was so professional and personable, and I also got a hand massage while my color was processing. I am so thankful to have found this gem of a salon and a fabulous stylist in Largo! Worth every penny. The stylists know what they are doing and can handle any time of hair. I have EXTREMELY thick and curly hair and my stylist did it with ease. She was a level 5 stylist so if you do have tricker hair I recommend get a higher level stylist. Also, side note, they have massage chairs. Worth it!

My hair was nearly to my waist and I hadnt got it cut in a long time because I had a couple really bad haircuts from a low end chain and was nervous to let scissors near me. I chose a more experience stylist and was ok with paying more than I ever have for a haircut because I feel you get what you pay for. We chopped off a lot and got it up to my shoulders. I loved it after styled by a professional but time would tell if this wash and go girl would be able to make it look good with zero effort. 2 weeks later I love it so much and am getting tons of compliments. Lisa was so fun to chat with and gave me my favorite haircut ever. I will never go anywhere else after this!

Been going to Salon West for about 10 years now. Wouldnt go anywhere else. All the hairdressers are very good at their jobs & they all do continuing education classes. The ladies that do your nails and facials are also very good at what they do. They take very good care of their customers. In a nice and clean salon with a lot of talent behind their doors.

So glad that the Salon is back open post pandemic shutdowns. They are being very careful about everything, cleaning between guests, it’s not as busy inside, wearing masks, checking temperatures of guests as they arrive. They aren’t blow drying hair right now (understandable) but hopefully this will return in the near future. It was just so nice to have my color freshened up and a fresh cut. Love Kandice!!! She is very easy to talk to and great at her job. I have been going to her for highlights and haircuts for almost 3 years. If you are making an appointment with her I suggest doing it in advance because she is very popular! I tried Salon West the first time after 2 other salons Im familiar with failed to answer any calls. Im glad I came here. From the moment I called, I felt important to them. Ive worked in customer service for 15 years and I truly hope that people feel that I treat people the way I was treated here. Danielle was awesome and *listened* .. she gave great advice and my hair still feels great 3 weeks later. I have TONS of hair and its usually really poofy this time of year if I dont fry the heck out of it. Not necessary with the products she suggested and cut she gave. After this level of service and care, along with how presentable the place is, I thought my bill was going to be really high--it was so comparable to other salons, I think my mouth fell open haha. Looking forward to going back next month. :)

So, I am one of those people who gets my hair cut at most once a year. And once I decide I want it, I want it now or Ill chicken out. (Pain in the butt client, I know.) I called the Walsingham location and unfortunately they were all booked for the day but theyd call when and if a cancellation happened. No more than 10 minutes later, I was called and was in for an appointment at 1:45. The girl at check in was fantastic and my wait was only a few minutes before I was called back. My stylist was Lauren D, and let me tell you. I have never had a more meticulous stylist ever. I have long, very thick, wavy and unruly hair. I walked out with goddess hair and a hug. I seriously will continue to come in just for a hair wash and blow out. She was PERFECTION. Sorry for the rambling, but this was the best experience Ive ever had. Lauren deserves ALL the praise.

Addenda to my previous review:I returned to Salon West when it was time to remove the CND shellac. I WAS SO PLEASED! Since moving to Saint Petersburg from Seattle a year-and-a-half ago I believe Ive done shellac 4 times when I was going on a trip so I wouldnt have to futz with my nails while I was gone. I love shellac but its just a bit too expensive for year round wear. This was the only time, the only Salon, that has not wrecked my nails taking the shellac off. The last place literally used one of those little drum filers!Regarding a previous unhappy review about the prices I have two comments:1) Salon West has a prominently displayed, impressive, brochure listing all their prices. I have one in my makeup drawer right now.2) Most people ASK about pricing when making the appointment. (Why would you not ask?) If not, upon arrival, if one does not see prices posted, common sense dictates one ASK, and check their budget, before agreeing (by sitting in the chair) to the service! One does not request multiple procedures, ignorant of the pricing, then complain about the cost!I will return to Salon West in the future for nails... And hair, when I can figure out first what I want, and second when Im sure my budget is in line with my desires!Thank you for great service!

I have had several services from Salon West Walsingham. I have a regular Stylist who I have used for 4+ years. She is great! I have used a couple of other Stylists and they all have been just as good. The Salon uses great quality products such as Redken and L’Oreal as well. They are very customer oriented and friendly. I love Salon West in Largo, you know this is true because it takes me between 45 mins to an hour to get there on most days. I love the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the one stop shop concept but what I love most is my stylist Sara Bartles. I love her fun personality and her creative style and her flexibility. What I love about Salon West is also that they send their staff to trainings/conferences to learn new tricks of the trade and this in turn keeps them all up with all the new and hot trends of the industry. Simply the best full service salon ever. Brenda does my nails (acrylic french) - it is so refreshing to not have to deal with any of the issues like at the cheap nail places - no drill burns, trimming cuts, etc. The spa pedicure is dreamy. Sara does my hair - and she always balances listening to me with giving me the option of branching out some:) The front desk has been nothing but professional, efficient and friendly. It isnt cheap - but I have done cheap and hated the my bad blonde hair color and the stressful nail services.

Every time I go here, I have a wonderful experience. The salon is beautiful: The décor and color scheme is contemporary and elegant. They are hospitable: There is a waiting lounge with comfy couches and free beverages, and a color bar where you can sit and look at all your color options on swatches of hair. They are multi-talented: They offer cuts for women/men/kids, color, waxing, manis, etc. etc.They are friendly, knowledgeable, talented: The first time I met my stylist Amanda was to correct an uneven hair cut that I got from Regis Salon. She knew exactly how to fix it. She was sympathetic and talented and I have trusted her with my haircuts ever since. I have referred friends to this salon because I am so confident and pleased with their expertise. Having just moved here, I was afraid that finding a hairstylist for my wife and I was going to be a disastrous chain of events that would lead into crooked head, why do I have a weird part on one side of my head, and the other side looks like a goat had a field day on it haircuts for me, and waking up next to my wife, reaching to pet her hair (she loves it when I do) to realize the hair I was petting was no longer on her head, but laying in a big ball that looked like the cat had a fur ball episode, and whatever was left on her head was now brittle and yellowish-green as she is crying in a fetal position in the corner of the room (can you tell Ive been through this nightmare before?).Reading reviews on many places, I settled on this place. I went first as the Guinea pig (I can deal with bad hair. My wife has hair down to her back, so its my job to take the bullet if need be).I picked Marie as she listed her specialty as a hair colorist.She is awesome. Very friendly and did a great job on my hair (Im picky). We talked about her hair coloring experience and felt better about things.With that said, I was leary to say the least. She is young and concerned about her lack of years of experience.Well, she definitely put that to rest. My wife has been a blonde most of her life and she wanted to go red. Yikes! Red is tricky. Cant be too red or you look like a cartoon character, and too orange and you look like a fruit.She went a couple times to do her hair blonde and Mary did an amazing job. They hit it off great as well, which doesnt hurt. Color was beautiful and hair was still thick, so she took the plunge on the red.All I can say is WOW! So much for being too young. The color came out gorgeous, but she added different layers of red, making it look incredibly full and natural. Her hair feels better and thicker than it ever has. My wife has light blue eyes and a few freckles so everyone thinks its her natural color. She did an amazing job!!!My wife has gone back 4 more times since to keep the red up, and its been flawless every time. I wanted to wait to post a review until I knew if it was a fluke or if she really is that good. Guess what? She really is that good!As far as the place itself, the staff is always very nice, offering you something to drink when you come in. Its clean and organized and has a good feel to it.To summarize, I have been to some of the best salons and hairstylists in the country in NY, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and Marie is one of the best Ive seen.The prices are just right. Dont misunderstand me. Its not cheap, but not the most expensive either, and in this case, you get what you pay for and more.

I’ve had some terrible things happen to my hair in the past few years and was very nervous about going to someone new. After voicing my concerns to the very polite receptionist, I booked my appointment with Amy. I was greeted right away and the salon atmosphere is very welcoming, stylish and clean. They have every product you would need. Pureology, Redkin, Dermilogica and more. Within minuets Amy brought me to her station and did a great consultation. She acknowledged my concerns and understood well what I was looking for and what my fears were. She gave me realistic goal for the day (I’m quite dark wanting to go to super blond) and then we started. After a hand / arm massage with delisious oils, I was then offered cookies and a beverage and taken on a tour while my 5,000 foils processed LOL. My hi-lights are well placed and even thorough out. Amy also nailed the cut form one simple picture. The scalp massage at shampoo time was a nice pampering touch. I’ve spent the same amount of money plenty of times in the past and received a fraction of the service given to me by Amy and support staff at Salon West.Thank you all so much.I have definitely found my stylist for life.

I am a long time client bc I love Samantha McGinnis at the Seminole location. I followed her there and enjoy the salon very much and love the products too. Samantha just gets me like no one ever has. She nails it every single time and has since the beginning. She doesnt small talk me to death. I totally enjoy my time with her. Im addicted and cannot stray.Naturally I have straight, fine, ash colored hair. I want to be a natural blonde with no visibility of my thin and bald spots (both surgery and stress related) and I want zero maintenance. I get high lights, low lights and whatever else she says bc sometimes my hair has damage or frizzies. I appreciate her more than I can articulate but I sure wish I could find the words. I would recommend Alexa to anyone that wants the best hair service and the best products on their blonde hair. I love her blending techniques and she is the only one that can lighten my hair up to the ashy level where I want it.
