    Thelma knows what shes doing!! I went in not feeling very good about my hair, I left feeling great about my color and style. She takes time discussing the best color/style for you.     Thelma is an artist!! Very attentive and knowledgeable. I had a color and cut correction that was handled expertly. This is probably the best haircut and color I’ve ever had. Sounds crazy, but I knew only a few minutes in that I was in the hands of a true professional. I can’t recommend this salon enough!! Ten star rating!!

    I never ever leave a review but Thelma definitely deserves one. I went in to get my curly hair layered. I was so anxious about my haircut because I wanted to try out something pretty different by getting curly bangs. Thelma very thoroughly explained that my hair isn’t dense enough for curly bangs and that it possibly wouldn’t look good. I love that she was straight up about it and didn’t sugar coat it. She asked me several times if I was sure I still wanted them and even when I hesitated to answer, she made me feel comfortable when she said she could leave my bangs longer just in case I didn’t like them. We went for the cut and the end result was amazing. Even Thelma ended up liking it! It’s safe to say that I will definitely be back in three months to keep up my haircut. Thank you so much!

    I had the pleasure of having my first haircut with Thelma last week. Not only did she take the time to do a thorough evaluation of the current state of my hair, she asked me many questions about my hair history and challenges. There was no judgement, and she offered advice that worked with my lifestyle.She then gave me a FANTASTIC cut. She took her time, but not unnecessarily slow. She continued to involve me in the decision making throughout, and altered her approach based on my feedback. It was very clear that this was about what I wanted, not what is easiest or quickest for her.After she was finished we mapped out a plan moving forward. She sent me home with some ideas to keep me on the right track. Distinct Hair Salon is a gem and the ultimate example of excellence. It is the way to go if you ever had your hair handled poorly at different salons. Thelma is a hair wizard, and she treats her customers professionally and like family. The service is superb, rates are excellent, great atmosphere and the most important part is that she is a hair professional that is not in for the money, she cares about the health of your hair, which it is hard to find these days. She provides great hair improvement tips and helps decide on styles when you have a few in mind. I have always been pleased with the service. When it comes to hair, I’ve finally found my go-to place.     I moved to Florida from Michigan this year. I am extremely picky about who does my hair so you can imagine how nervous I was to start over again with a new stylist. I did have a bad experience at another place since moving here. I went in to Distinct Hair Salon and Thelma not only corrected my hair but she made it the most beautiful blonde I’ve ever had in my hair. It’s what I’ve been wanting but no one ever got it quite right. She’s amazing. She explained the entire process on what she was going to do to fix it and took her time with me to be sure it was right. She cares deeply about listening to what her clients want and takes pride in her work.

    My little cousin recommended this salon when I first moved down to WPB. Her hair is natural, healthy, thick and long, so I was excited to try. Thankfully, two years later, I havent looked anywhere else 🤗.Thelmas calling card is healthy hair for all of her clients. Shes also a hair colorist - I dont do color (yet), but her other clients hair always look great and you can tell that its healthy when they come in for their maintenance appts.My favorite part is the gentle blow out (Frances, thank you!). Like, it doesnt hurt at all. Ive been in other salons and wondered if the stylist hated me because of how often the heat would catch my scalp 😩.Its a quiet but friendly spot, limits on guests, no food, etc: I appreciate it and heres why: Appointment times are respected and I can reliably make plans for after. For a wash and silk press, Im usually done within an hour and 20 minutes (a treatment or trim/cut of course adds a little time). Being a caretaker, I dont get much free time to myself, but Distinct is one of the few self care moments I get and they never disappoint!

    Let me start off by saying, thank you to Thelma. Her and her receptionist for taking me in as a walk in last year right before I was about to give birth to my baby girl. I was in need of a hair trim, I searched google for hair salons and this one was the one to catch my eye. After mistreatment and trusting another stylist my hair was ruin. Not only did They accommodate me by letting me walk in the same day I called. Thelma did her magic on my hair. My hair was so damaged by the last person I let touch my hair. Thelma let me keep has much length as possible when she started my trim, she was so informative, and made me feel comfortable. She did AMAZING work. I even did a hydration mask! That helped so much. This has been about my 3rd trim with her, I stayed away as much possible from heat products and use hair masks at least once a week. I cannot explain to you how much my hair has not only grown but it is so healthy now. This review is long overdue, Thank you Thelma I can finally say I trust someone with my hair. I will keep continuing to come back and I recommend her everywhere!!

    First of all, I am the pickiest person in the world and it is super difficult for me to trust just anyone with my hair. Loved my hair and the salon. Thelma was amazing and I absolutely loved the service. She took her time with me and explained everything she would do to my hair and why. She listens to what you say and does a wonderful job without the need to pull or tug on your hair or burn the scalp. Loved the attention, service, and my hair.     Walked in with hope to get my hair highlighted. Unfortunately I didnt due to a great reason. Rather than Thelma taking my money for the highlights she suggested something better getting my hair healthy first she gave me a great cut and I did a moisturizing treatment and my hair feels soooo much better! Im so happy I went this route and glad Thelma suggested it. I had box dyed my hair a few months ago and it was really damaged once My hair is healthy after treatments I will be going back. Thank you for being kind we all need more hairstylist like you! Frances was also very kind!

    Thelma and Francis run the best business in town. The location is clean, organized and smaller than many larger salons, which I prefer. The services are top notch and tailored to the individual. Thelma is a master in her craft and informs you while she works. Francis provides outstanding customer service and follow up. My hair is much improved from when I first stepped into the salon.     I will begin by saying … I fired my old hair dresser on the spot!!! I am so happy with Thelma and her work pro and etiquette. Very knowledgeable , and takes pride in a work well done. I recommend her in every aspect bc she cares to see your hair investment grow! The color was on point! The haircut out of this world, hair treatment, use of No paraffin which damages hair big time! No oils or chemicals. She is gentle, does not pull burn or mistreat your hair or making it smell smoky after flat ironing like most other hair salons do! Her staff is professional and caring!!! She is on point, best hair stylist/color pro I have yet to meet! Don’t be fooled she is strict on the professional realm. Don’t come to her hair salon to hangout and eat food or expect drinks and thrash talk or women issues…I love her vibe/energy! Love my hair! One very happy customer!

    Finally found my go-to hair salon in West Palm Beach after living here for almost 6 years! When I first stepped in I was greeted by sweet Frances who accommodated me even though I was a walk-in client (Appointment Recommended) Thelma the stylist is the BEST! Shes so sweet, kind, professional and thoughtful. She is a great listener to what you want and helps you figure out what will work for you. I love my haircut and color.     Thelma is the most professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly authentically passionate about her trade. She is an expert and will only do what is in your best interest, even if it is contrary to what you are asking for. She was so meticulously thoughtful when handling my hair. She took time to explain exactly what she was doing and why she was doing it. I have curly hair and often it is difficult to find a salon where I feel comfortable with a stylist cutting and handling. That has all disappeared with Thelma. I had neglected my hair for two years because I wasn’t able to find a place that delivered what I expected. I am so happy I have found Thelma. Bonus points for emphasizing healthy hair and not trying to take advantage of anyone! She is a gem and I highly recommend her over other “Dominican” hair salons.     I came to this salon in 2012 when I started my natural hair journey. I received excellent hair care and customer service during each visit back then, so I expected the same when I returned this year. I got that times 10! Just to be clear, I stopped going to the salon because I moved to a different area. Thelma (owner) is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and talented. I showed her a picture of the color that I wanted and she made it look even better than what I had hoped for. My wash and blow out are very gentle on my hair and doesnt change my natural curl pattern. Frances is amazing too! She gives great scalp massages while washing my hair. Give them a call and schedule an appointment for the Distinct Look that youve been dreaming of. You will love how you look when you leave.

    I have finally found a great hair salon! Thelma took care of me and she gave me the haircut that I wanted and never over cut like most hairstylist do.     A truly Distinct Hair Salon! Hair health is one of Thelma’s strong points. In fact I’ve dubbed her the hair doctor! She freely shares her education with you so you know how to care for your hair on your own. She is an excellent colorist with a warm and caring personality!     Ive been coming to this salon for three years and love it. Thelma is patient and all about healthy hair -- which is the most important thing to me. She helped me ditch the relaxer and transition to my natural hair. My hair has since been the healthiest in a long time. She also honors appointment times and provides services in a timely manner, while never sacrificing quality. It also helps that Thelma is so sweet! Thelma is the most honest hairstylist I have ever met , I have had the WORST experiences with other so called ‘hairstylists’ but Thelma will tell you straight up what your hair needs and will fix whatever damage you have.     I found this Salon thru Google. I needed someone who could help me with a bad hair cut that I received at another salon. When I came to her she saw the unfortunate haircut that received and reassured me we can fix this. Needless to say it took over 3 hours with some coloring and it came out fabulous.     I found this hair salon while checking out the neighborhood. Thelma was more than amazing. She was giving me all the helpful hints a girl could need. What shampoo was best for my hair, best way and tool to use to dry my hair so I dont continue to fry my hair. I plan on bringing my daughter with me next time so we can get a proper cut on her curly hair.

    I went or see Thelma for a color change. I wanted the hair to be brown. I went to see Thelma a week before and we talked about the color I wanted to achieve and how I wanted to keep my curls intact without changing my roots. She understood very well and she used peroxide and the dye to change my color. Because I have so much hair, the cost was $200. She did a great job and the finish was great.

    I was referred to Thelma by a great friend of mine when I was looking for a change and wanted to cut and dye my hair. I had been going to the same stylist for 10 years and when she retired I was reluctant to try anyone new.     This is my favorite hair salon in Florida!! I live in New York, and when I goto Florida I only let Thelma touch my hair. She is amazing!!     My wife goes to this salon. And I’m happy to say that my wife is loving her hair. It’s never been so healthy and long. It took some time but the owner of the salon helped her get there.     Thelma is a miracle worker! She is helping me restore my hair so that its healthier and stronger. After just one visit it already feels different and it looks amazing. Still have a bit more to go in this recovery but definitely will be coming back.

    Ive been going to the hair salon since I was 6 years old. Im now 35 years old and Ive been to pretty much all types of hair salons, including my time living in New York. Im very picky and hair care matters as much as hair styling to me. Ive found many stylist who can style, but at the expense of my hair health. My hair is now gorgeous and healthy. I get compliments everywhere I go. Thelma is passionate about what she does. The salon is clean, peaceful and very professional. Im always on the go and she manages to get me in and out in top speed. I suffered with chronic migraine headaches for years. I argued with Thelma at the beginning that the chemicals were not the cause. She was gentle, but strongly disagreed lol. She was right lol! I no longer have migraines or even minor headaches actually! Her personality is very professional and thorough. She creates a plan for each client. She always makes me feel special as a client. BEST stylist ever!!!

    Ms. Thelma has been reconstructing my hair for over a year and I can’t begin to tell you how much I am thankful I met her and trusted her to take me through my natural healthly hair journey! Her hands are truly blessed! My hair is the longest it’s been in years 100% natural! She TRIMS what is needed and with precision! Unlike any other Dominican Hair Stylist I’ve been to, and I’m from Philly! Lol ! Not to mention the heat level isn’t your typical overheating you can experience at other Dominican salons. A++!     I meet Thelma 7 or 8 years ago. My daughter was having problems with her very long tangled hair. No one could help me. or they choose not to. I went to Thelma, broken hearted explained how down, and almost broken my daughter was because she was being teased at school. Thelma listen, never question, how or why, she just said, i will fix it. Bring her in. I told he my daughter has been hurt, by other hair stylist. She promised she would be gentle and that she was She took my daughter in to a room, spoke to her in a calm manner, Got her to quit crying, which wasnt an easy task. She reassured her ,she would fix her hair, and she did just that. Thelma cut, trim, and made my daughter very happy. She had no choice but to cut it short, but her hair grew, long and stronger then before . She gave my daughter life again. This women has a heart of gold, Soft spoken, and Beautiful inside and out. She knows hair, she listens to you . Does what you ask, but openly gives you her opinion, recommendations, but if you still want it a different way, she will do it. you will be happy with her. I havent been able to go to her as often as i want because im not working. , But i only go to her. I finally am able to go see her again, next week and i cant wait. She took care of me and my daughters , and she will take care of you. Just give her a chance. Her business is small, but her heart is big

    Today I went in to get my hair washed and blown out and I called with no appointment and they told me to come right in, Evelyn took care of me and was very kind and did a great job with my hair. I am a natural so it can be hard to work with natural hair but Evelyn did amazing. I give this place 5 stars and Ill definitely be back.

    I felt at home as soon as I hit the door. Most of the hairstylists came to greet me as if I were an old friend.
