    I have been a patient of Dr. Mahoney for three years. The staff are wonderful as they do care about your needs. Dr. Mahoney is very easy to talk to as he takes his time to listen to any concerns or questions you may have. I have never felt rushed to get through my appointment. I have had other not so good experiences with other dermatologists.Dr. Mahoney and his team are the best! I wouldnt go elsewhere.

    My family has had a great experience with Dr. Mahoney. We had originally brought our baby to see him, after he was recommended by our sons pediatrician, because he was having very bad skin reactions as a newborn. He was great with our young son and continued to see him for check ups to make sure Everything was ok. My husband decided to see Dr. Mahoney after this and had a great experience himself as well. It’s great to have a doctor you can trust and have a wonderful experience from the moment you walk in.

    Dr. Mahoney was amazing for my 2 year old sons visits and also his small procedure. He was quick and made sure my son was comfortable. The office is very welcoming, including the themed rooms.     Dr. Mahoney, Anna and Amber provide exceptional care. They spend time addressing any concerns, answering questions and educating. It is evident their primary concern is to resolve the issue by doing what is most effective and best for the patient.     I have had Psoriasis for over 36 years & have had numerous Dermatologists. None of the came close to the care & support I receive at Mahoney Dermatology. Dr. Mahoney really listens to you. He takes the time to review your skin issues with you, devises a plan of action and fights for your rights and medication approvals with the insurance companies. His staff is wonderful as well. They are always friendly and always greet you with a smile. I would highly recommend Mahoney Dermatology for all of your skin care needs. They are the best. I am so happy to have found them.

Firstly, the front desk people were very accommodating to ensure that it was Dr. Mahoney that saw our 6-week old baby.     Dr. Mahoney and his staff are always wonderful with my daughter, who began treating with Dr. Mahoney when she was 6 months old due to eczema.     Dr.Mahoney is a very caring physician. Our daughter is complicated with two skin disorders and a metabolic disorder. He never rushes a visits, he is attentive and listens to you. He answers all your questions. If an emergency occurs makes sure you are seen as soon as possible and has for our daughter into his daily schedule. I highly recommend him and his entire practice. Everyone is professional friendly and caring.

    As a retired surgeon, I feel I am a good judge of quality care and a quality office staff. Dr. Mahoney and his office staff are exemplary in their patient care and knowledge of dermatology. Dr. Mahoney actually shocked me in his knowledge of other medical fields, he is also a trained pediatrician. I have seen him for diagnostic reasons as well as for surgical procedures and in both cases his care and follow-up have been excellent. If you are looking for a quality doctor and a staff that actually answer the phone and call you back with results, this is the office you should be going to.

    Mahoney dermatology is outstanding. My first encounter was a few years ago, when my baby keep getting misdiagnosed by our pediatrician and also a different dermatologist. When I came in, the ARNP, Anna immediately diagnosed her and double checked with the doctor to provide treatment that healed her within a week. I came back a few years later with another odd issue and was once again correctly treated. Recently, we saw Dr. Mahoney for another issue and again were very pleased with the results. All the providers have been extremely caring, professional and spot on with their diagnosis. I never had to wait a long time and everyone in the office has been extremely nice. However, even if I did have to wait, I wouldnt go to a different practice because of the outstanding care and knowledge they provided for my children when other doctors failed.

    The Dr. I usually use was off due to Covid....I had Dr. Mahoney for the first time. I waited for a very long time in the car, when they finally called me in I was sent to a room...then a nurse came in to take my information and she was extremely short and I had to keep repeating. Then they moved me to another room...again asked the same questions and again I had to repeat several times...Dr. came in and ask the same questions so not sure if anyone reads what the previous tech or nurse wrote. The length of time I spent in total from my appointment time was 2 hours which is unexceptionable, they over booked...and after all that time he could not resolve my issue told me to go to a different Dr. . Hopefully next time my Dr. will be in and ever thing will be back to normal. I am sure Dr. Mahoney is excellent but not for me.

    I am Matt Mahoney, the patient, not to be confused with Matt Mahoney the doctor. We have the same name, but entirely different professions. Dr. Mahoney is extremely professional with a good sense of humor and in a world where bed side manner means nothing, it does to Dr. Mahoney. I feel totally secure knowing the Doctor has a good handle on my skin cancer and the treatments . I am always careful on referrals, but have no concerns referring Dr. Mahoney to my clients.

    Mahoney Dermatology has been amazing with our family. Our youngest daughter received a dermatological diagnosis at 5 weeks old and without the care and expertise of Dr. Mahoney and his team, we are not sure where we would be. Can’t say enough good things about this practice.

    Dr Mahoney and his fellow physicians are amazing! I really wouldn’t trust my children’s or my own skin to anyone else. My daughter was born with a birthmark on her head that had 5 markers for melanoma. Being a pediatric dermatologist and father of 4, he was able to give me wonderful medical advice as well as what he would do if it were his own daughter. I’ve seen the PA for my own skin issues and been overwhelmingly happy with the care and knowledge of the staff. I HIGHLY recommend Mahoney Dermatology for all your family’s skin!

    Over the years, I’ve been to several local dermatologists. Having lived in Florida and in the sun all my life, having a good dermatologist that I trust is vitally important to me. Dr Mahoney is the best! I completely trust him and know that if he needs to send me to a specialist for a Mohs Procedure....then that’s what he does. He’s got a great personality that makes me feel comfortable and totally confident in him. I highly recommend this office and Dr Mahoney!

    I had a issue that i thought might be a problem and was taken in right away and addressed and made sure i came back as a follow up. Dr Mahoney was amazing and his staff who took all the proper steps to make sure they were safe as well as myself. When i called for an appt i also mentioned my son had something on his stomach that didn’t look right he told me to bring him in with me and thank god cause he addressed it right away and made sure that my son was okay.     Just saw Sarah Croft and Monica for the first time. I feel so much better about my granddaughters eczema and confident that it will feel better soon. We have seen 3 other doctors and it keeps getting worse. Sarah certainly knew what she was talking about and I am so relieved. Great experience.Update: after the first night my granddaughter felt and looked so much better. Now, several days later she thinks she is all better, I think not quite, but pretty close.     At 4 months old my son was diagnosed with moderate to severe eczema covering 75% of his body including ears and eyelids. We had visited 4 physicians in our quest to find some relief, including 2 holistic doctors. After a year and half of failed attempts of treatment, we finally found Dr. Mahoney when my son was 2. He came up with an aggressive approach of treatment. Dr. Mahoney was so compassionate and eager to get our son some relief. We are eternally grateful for Dr. Mahoney and his Nurse practitioner for caring so much for our family.

    If i could give 1000 stars I would.The female doctor (forgive me for not remembering her name) and Dr.Mahoney are the absolute best!! I lived in St. Pete when my son started going to the office and I now live closer to Lakeland and I will take the drive and pay out of pocket (self pay) just for my son to see the doctors. Both doctors have amazing bedside manners, they listen to my concerns and recommend different tips and meds if needed. They are so worth it! I appreciate you all very much!     Dr. Mahoney and his staff have saved my son from a horrible case of atopic dermatitis. He is now completely free from scratching and having staph infections and no longer on any medications for it! They are patient and knowledgeable.     Mahoney Dermatology was recommended to us by friends.My teenage son had cystic acne all over his back and they were successful and in helping stop the painful cysts.The staff was always nice.     Dr Mahoney is absolutely fantastic! Saw him today for the first time and I cant say enough good things. Very pleasant demeanor, kind and caring.     I had a wonderful experience at the office. Dr. Lana McKinley gave mecomprehensive skin exam and also examined my hair. She was very knowledgeable and caring and answered all my questions.     Mahoney Dermatology has come through with amazing treatment and service for myself and family members so many times. I first saw this practice with my son, when he was a baby. The pediatrician was stumped on a mysterious rash that Dr Mahoney was able to diagnose and treat for us. I was so happy to find a physician that not only listened to me, but considered what I had to say in regards to my sons condition and treatment. Over the years weve had several such experiences, including allergic reactions, eczema, skin tags moles and dermatitis. My entire family and extended family now goes to this practice and I strongly recommend Dr Mahoney to parents that need a knowledgeable, pediatric dermatologist. Hes never pushed a procedure or treatment on us or written a prescription and then hustled out of the room. As an adult with a complicated medical status, Dr Mahoney is a trusted member of my treatment team. Ive never had an issue with billing or my prescriptions. Ive had to dial their on-call number a few times and always get a prompt call back.

Other dermatologists seemed like they were just trying to push expensive products on me and didnt care about their patients health at all.     He is very good at getting to know his patients and making you feel heard. They do not just go through the motions and push you through the process here. I have been to many dermatologist over the years(skin cancer prone) and Dr. Mahoney and his office are the best. I thought about changing when the office moved recently but then decided it was worth the extra travel time. My only complaint is that this office does not do Mohs surgery.

    Literally BEST pediatric dermatologist. I drive from tampa to see him for my child and out of our insurance network. We have been to multiple dermatologists and Mahoney has been the only one to help my childs eczema. He is knowledgeable, tells you the pros & cons, takes his time with you. Office staff always calls me back and went above and beyond for our circumstances. My daughter can finally function and as a family we can finally enjoy our lives.

    Dr. Mahoney and Dr. McKinley are fantastic dermatologists. We have taken both of our daughters there for minor procedures and they have been very caring and patient with all of the questions by the girls. I highly recommend this practice.

    Dr Mahoney diagnosed my issue based on the symptoms I described PRIOR to seeing it! Of course he looked at it but his diagnosis remained the same. Perscribed creams, they worked. I saw 2 other doctors who could not figure it out, one a specialist. So if you have a skin issue just go here and skip your primary or gynecologist. Yes the wait is long. If you go to a doctor with no wait you should probably worry. Its the nature of the business-insurance companies keep 90% of your premiums and grudgingly pay the rest to providers. So they have to see lots of patients to make the same $ they used to make years ago.
