I was really nervous taking my daughter for her first haircut. She never lets anyone including myself touch her hair. So I expected the worse. I was pleasantly surprised by how calm she was and how not only did she get her hair cut but let someone tie her hair up. Candice was amazing with her. She was quick yet gentle and made all of us comfortable. Will definitely come again. So happy.

Candice was amazing with my son. He is very difficult and does not like to get his hair cut and I usually get anxiety before the appointments because of the way he acts. She not only reassured my son and was patient with him, she also made me feel at ease because of the way she spoke to both him and I during the whole session. Hopefully my son gains trust with her because I will definitely continue to go visit her when he is in need of a cut. She is also just a great stylist in general. It was a wonderful experience! Our son had grown out his hair to be almost at his hips, and he was ready to get it cut short. We were happy they handled the donation for wigs for kids. Our stylist was able to take our inspiration photo and duplicate it for our son. Our son was absolutely thrilled.

For a parent that has a child on the spectrum and HATES haircuts, is hard enough, but she made it easy. Such an amazing experience! My wife took our 2.5 year old autistic son to get his haircut here and Mr. Kai was so patient and understanding of his sensory sensitivities. My son is very sensitive around his ears/ neck and can only tolerate scissors with no protective cape. Previously he has only had haircuts at home and each one has been very difficult because of our son’s sensory issues. The haircut by Mr. Kai looks amazing -which is beyond incredible considering more than half of it took place on the floor (after my son screamed his way out of the car chair). We were so impressed by how kind and understanding everyone working here was. It can be very stressful not knowing how kids will react to new people and new sensations, but we are so grateful for how Pigtails and Crewcuts accommodated our son’s needs. Truly could not recommend them more.

Everyone is super friendly and amazing with the kids. My son is 2 years old and HATES haircuts. He throws tantrums every time we go. Jaimie was very patient with him and maintained her cool and playfulness even through the kicking and screaming. I was an anxious mess and she made sure to assure me that everything was fine and that this happens sometimes at his age. Super grateful for her and the other women here that made us feel welcome even through the chaos.

Jaime was fantastic! Sweet and courteous. Engaging with my four-year-old daughter. Did a beautiful job with her hair and finished it off with an Elsa braid, glitter, and a crown! The only down side to that was that my daughter didnt have time to explore all of the cool stuff in the waiting room. LOL. But not complaining about that.

It was an ideal atmosphere for kids. Super clean and organized. My son was in and out because he was so comfortable. There were numerous distractions for him. The bottle filled with various glitters and small animals was what snagged him. His haircut was adorable and the price was worth it. There was no way I could leave without adding a good tip. I highly recommend giving them a visit.

We had an amazing experience today with two haircuts. My older daughter (6) enjoyed sitting in the police car and got an easy trim. My younger daughter (4) was a bit nervous but stylist KK made her feel comfortable in no time. She offer her magnets to play with and they stuck to the fire truck she was sitting in. So cute! KK helped me learn how to better style my daughter’s curls and I’m so grateful for that. The cut itself was just fantastic. She even offered a braid and color. When my older daughter saw the finished look (she was also offered but turned it down) she absolutely wanted one too. Without hesitation, KK did the same for my older daughter. They each loved getting lollipops and a prize from the treasure box.We look forward to coming back again. Thank you KK and the entire staff for a wonderful experience and two great cuts.

The whole experience was amazing. We recently moved and we were apprehensive of what we would experience since our previous haircut place has done our sons hair since he was 1 yrs ,he is now 3.9 yrs old. This has been our go-to for kids cuts! Jamie & Becky have been wonderful handling my child with sensory issues. They have gone above and beyond over the past couple years to help my child become comfortable with getting his hair cut. After such great experiences with them, today I brought in my youngest child who has cerebral palsy and had the pleasure of Katherine giving him his first hair cut. She was extremely gentle and caring even while cutting his hair at hard angles. She made it such an enjoyable experience for him. There are so many wonderful people at this salon!

Had the best experience at this AMAZING kids salon....if your child is prone to meltdowns, gets overstimulated easily, and is generally a bit difficult, believe me when I tell you this is the place to get their hair cut. I truly believed it was going to be a terrible experience but was desperate for my daughter to have her wild hair trimmed. I was shocked when my daughter picked out her little car seat and happily sat and watched a movie and played with the little magnetic toys they put on the little steering wheel. She did not shed one single tear, and was even happy during the entire cut. They let her take a little prize and a lollipop at the end and she was just the picture of joy. My husband and I left in disbelief. Safe to say we will have bring her here each and every time she needs a cut in the future. Thank you!!!

My daughter is almost 2 years old and needed her 1st haircut. I googled places to get kids haircut and this was the closest one to our home. Im so glad that we came here!! My daughter doesnt like having her hair played with so I was worried she was gonna freak out when the time came to cut her hair but from the second we walked in everyone was extremely friendly and they made my daughter feel so special with all the attention they gave her!! They let her pick out which chair she wanted to sit in and then when they put her in they gave her magnets that stuck to the steering wheel and other toys to keep her occupied!! Our hairstylist talked to my daughter and us the whole time making it a very pleasant experience!! We got the 1st haircut package and they gave us a card that had her name and the date with a lock of her hair and a super cute pic they took off her after they styled her hair very cute in a ponytail on top of her head then they put a ribbon in her hair then she got to pick a toy from the treasure chest!! It was fantastic and I will definitely return and I would highly recommend it to anyone!!! Thanks to every one there for making my daughters 1st haircut a great experience!!

Took my son (11 yo) there today for the first time and the hairstylist who did his hair was wonderful. While we were there, there was another boy (maybe 6 yo?) who seemed to have sensory processing and/or sensitivity issues and he was being loud, very upset, and obviously distressed. His hair stylist and the rest of the team were amazing making accommodations and being sensitive to his needs. I would highly recommend this shop for kids who need stylists that specialize in all-needs kids.

We’ve been coming here for about 31/2 years now. Miss Candice and Miss Katherine do such a great job cutting our son’s hair. He had some sensory issues when he was a toddler but they always managed to get through it and he still left with a decent cut, despite him being upset and moving around a lot.We also drive an hour to get here from Ormond Beach because of the staff and the kid friendly atmosphere that my son has grown to love. Whenever you ladies want to come and open up shop in Ormond, we have plenty of families here ready and waiting! 😊

Jamie was very patient when taking care of our daughter’s hair. From washing to trimming, to braiding her hair, she was careful not to pull her hair, and was talking through all the steps, making me feel great about taking my daughter to her, and making my daughter comfortable in the process. We love Katherine. She has been our go to person for cutting my sensory sensitive child for 6 years, and occassionally my own. She is receptive to both what I would like and also what my child would like feom their haircut. I especially enjoy that she takes the time to explain what she is doing so he isnt surprised and is involved in the process. She is quick and efficient, but also is detail oriented so she makes sure we are completely satisfied with our service. She is also great at explaining products you carry that would work best on my child. My son use to hate haircut days, it was an epic meltdown, but now he looks forward to it!

I don’t have enough good things to say about this place and specifically Candice. If you’re having any doubts about a first time haircut for your child she is your go to person! My son was not happy about his first haircut and she (and everyone else) went above and beyond to comfort him and work with him and still gave him an amazing first haircut. TLDR: I highly recommend.Long version: My sons barber, Candice, did an incredible job cutting our sons hair. Hes afraid of the clippers being near his ears and my wife and I arent able to cut his hair ourselves without him flying into a panic. This shop, however, has chairs best suited to accommodate uneasy children and their barbers are kind and tender with the kids. The building is clean, bright, has a play area for the kids to wait their turn in, and plays various kids movies on multiple screens. The price for cuts is around $25-30, which is reasonable for a males haircut. Parents can also get haircuts there to further help ease the kids anxiety about the process.

I took my girls in for haircuts and they had an awesome time. One of my girls had her very first ever haircut. The lady put the gown on her and she started cutting, my little girl just talked and talked which the stylist did a great job talking back and kept her distracted. My older daughter pretty much did the same but that stylist did a great job as well. Both ladies asked the girls how they wanted their hair styled one wanted pig tails and the other wanted a french braid. I can’t say enough good things about this place! The entire staff is so sweet, patient, and gentle but I particularly love Lyndsey and Catherine. We pierced our daughter’s ears here and the back kept falling out. Each time I tried to put it back in she cried and it would bleed. They would put it back in painlessly for my baby each time. Her hair cuts always turn out so cute and the stylists are very patient and gentle. The salon is obviously very kid friendly and there are things to do while you wait (which has always been a minimal amount of time for us). I will definitely continue going here and always recommend it to my friends!

For a year, I’ve been taking him to a friends private salon room but I knew it was time to bring him into “the real world”. I decided to try Pigtails & Crewcuts. Alex was our stylist and he was an absolute delight. By a miracle, my son sat and willingly got his haircut. I attribute this to Alex! He was so gentle, calm, and sweet. He even had such a soft voice that kept my son from getting upset. He did an amazing job and I have already gotten so many compliments on his haircut. I can’t believe I waited this long to try it! I highly recommend this salon to anyone with little kids and cannot wait to see Alex in the future for his next hair cut.

My daughter was so scared to get her haircut but she was easily relaxed by the nice staff. They were so sweet and have such a great set up. She was so relaxed and distracted she had no problem and was happy by the end. Her haircut is so cute and their “first haircut” package is really a nice touch.

Candice did amazing fixing a bad haircut on my 9 year old son. Hes really sensitive with sounds and they have the silent hair clippers which is a big plus. Hes really happy with it which speaks volumes!!! We will be returning for sure!

The professionals at Pigtails and Crewcuts always do an incredible job. My son was born with a lot of hair and it has kept growing fast, so he had his first haircut when he was about 7 months old and many more since then. They have all been at Pigtails and Crewcuts in Winter Springs and we have never had a bad experience. The hairdressers are always so cheerful and patient with him, and his hair looks great when we leave. We will definitely keep coming back.

Very impressed! Its my first time bringing my son to a place specifically for kids, and I can say that I wont be bringing him back to a regular salon again. Candace worked so well with my difficult child. Even though my son was unhappy about getting his hair cut, the toy box and lollipop meant that we ended on a positive note.

Wowww!! I was super nervous about piercing my babys ears and did a great deal of research. Finding this place was an answered prayer! Brought my son in today for his first haircut and couldnt be happier with the entire experience! He had a blast in the seat/car and was too busy playing to even know he was getting a haircut. Our hair stylist was amazing, she made the very difficult job of cutting a toddlers hair look easy.

It was a great experience and the salon made sure to account for safety during this covid time. Kids felt very comfortable and dad was too. Candice always makes the kids feel like stars and does an excellent job on their hair. I took my 19 month old son here for his very first haircut. I anticipated a meltdown just because it seems like a common reaction from little ones. However, these ladies at Pigtail and Crewcuts were literally amazing. Not only was my son not upset, he actually enjoyed it! They have so many toys and fun things to distract them with that he wanted to keep playing once he was done! Also, the woman who cut his hair, Katherine, was wonderful! She sweetly talked with him the whole time and was patient while he was squirmy. I will be taking my son here to get his haircut every time now! It was a great experience!

Candace rocks! This location is very kid friendly. It’s easy to make an appointment. The staff is warm and knowledgeable. They simply “get” kids. They have a Nintendo Switch to entertain the 9 year old in your family. They can create the latest styles in front of your eyes. It’s not just for that first haircut but for life! If your child isn’t a fan of the Switch then they will be entertained by a movie on one of the many TV screens. “Best haircut ever!” said my son as he flossed his way out the door.

What a great experience. Our son loved playing in the fire truck and even made Jamie the stylist pause a few times because he kept leaning in for hugs. Ms. Candice is the bomb! We have been seeing Ms Candice since my son turned 1 and he is almost 3. She works wonders that no one else can. It was difficult to find someone who could manage his texture of hair. My son is half black half Puerto Rican and has tight curls with a more course texture. Ms Candice always has my son looking fresh when he leaves. The atmosphere is perfect to entertain the kids, the stations are always clean and disinfected between kids. Ms Candice has been a blessing to us; she has been patient with my son as he has slowly matured and is not as crazy with haircuts as he used to be.

The ladies that helped me with my daughters haircut were phenomenal. The salon was clean, and they followed the safety protocols for COVID. The attention they paid to my daughter was awesome, especially enjoyed the movie that was playing as I waited. Overall, they did amazing and the price was on par with what I expected to pay.
