I brought my Mom here she was her birthday of 92 years old. I was a Mommy and me cut. The girls did fab job, my hair cut by Lisamarie was perfect, my moms cut was fabulous the young lady too alot of time and her teacher was superior in helping her achieve a style that would rival a $200 cut!!! Lisamarie was so sweet and organized the girls to give my.mom a happy birthday serenade and a dunking doughnut birthday tower!!! Amazing people and stylists!!! Mom and I Thankyou 1k times for an amazing experience!!

Had a 60 minute facial with Tiara today and I loved it so much, she recommended that I have the natural peel ($15 extra) which is their most popular facial. I came out with glass looking skin, highly recommend- I’ll be back**Revised **I came back and tried the 90min massage and it was wonderful. My masseuse was Dennise, she asked me upfront what kind of massage I was looking for and upon starting she confirmed that the pressure she was applying was right for me- I really appreciate that. Dennise was intuitive and worked on the knots I had but also included some relaxing but firm pressure. She will make a wonderful masseuse going forward 👏 👏

Got a pedicure. Everything was fine. Agree with previously comment the the seat was too high. Additionally, the soaking tub was ancient and I would have liked to have a plastic liner to ensure cleanliness. I noticed that the tub is cleaned by spraying something on it. Not hygienic in my opinion. They need equipment. The technician was fine, though, and the price was great.

Came in to get a haircut today and Tila absolutely exceeded my expectations! I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever left a salon feeling this good about my haircut, allthanks to her. She was so sweet and knew exactly how to handle my hair! She had me in and out in 1.5 hours with a wash, haircut & style. For the most part it was a great experience. Very nice people at reception desk. First service (a facial) was great even though the young woman doing it was very inexperienced, she did a really good job. Its a Institute for teaching, students with a professor checking everything they do. Unfortunately the second service (dying my hair) was not completed. The young woman who was supposed to do it, was not as professional. After talking to her about what I wanted done, she walked away for at least 10 minutes. I could see her on her phone. I decided Id rather come back another time and have it done by someone who was more interested in doing my hair. Reception and her supervisor completely agreed. They were very professional.

Taliyah is AMAZING! I didnt know cutting straight hair was hard. I figured it would be the easiest hair to cut. I learned something! One of the instructors came by frequently to made sure that she hadnt any problems or difficulties with my hair. My hair is also baby fine and thick complicating things even more and yet Taliyah handled it as if she had been doing my hair her whole life. I have a specific or signature cut that I like and whenever I stray from it I regret it. Taliyah was able to fix the mess left after a bad cut last year, re-create my style perfectly and at the length I wanted . This young lady is going places so you better see her before she graduates in February!As for the school; I do not live near this Aveda school anymore. In fact its a 3 Hour drive however, I have always had a good experience here no matter who I saw. I hadnt been back since before Covid. I tried the Orlando school and, no, just no. This is location is always clean, well stocked, the workstations are well spaced and it just feels more professional and inviting.

She defined my hair goals from the beginning of the session and educated me about each step of the process throughout my session--which I greatly appreciated. She constantly checked on me throughout the session, showing how naturally considerate she is. 😍 MY NATURAL 4C CURLS ARE SO HEALTHY AND BEAUTIFUL! THANK YOU SO MUCH, ZENITA! 😍She used Aveda-made products that were so conducive with my hair. I came in for a pedicure. The technician, Wesley, was very sweet. She did a great job on the pedicure. There was a good selection of colors to choose from. However, I thought the high bench seats and cushions were a bit uncomfortable and awkward to get up and down on. They slid around and after 15 minutes were not that comfortable to sit on. I recommend not wearing a skirt to the appointment either.

I booked my appointment with Ron. Several women at work had their hair cut, colored or styled by him. I wanted to add some fun colors to my hair. Ron, took his time with the consultation. He made sure he chose the best options for my hair. Ron, was meticulous when applying the bleach and beautiful colors to my hair. It was a very long day but oh so worth it! Book you appointment with Ron and make sure to follow him once he graduates. He is a gem!

Compared to other cosmetology schools, the salon experience at this school is the best bar none!The students are very talented, professional and do their best to accommodate us all. You literally forget that you are at a school and that your stylist is actually, a student. I visited this month for the first time, after easily requesting an appointment online. First appointments are at 9:30 and the check-in process is simple. I thought I had requested a Masters level student (almost ready to graduate) at $18 for a cut, but instead was assigned to a regular student for a $12 cut, which turned out great. My student, June, was wonderful. (She has been there for several months so is apparently half way through the training.) She asked for my request and feedback and listened carefully. The two instructors (Carley and Melissa) were great. They did approximately half of the cutting, and explained each step to the student clearly, in a way that showed their competence in their skills while also building the students confidence. I was out by 11 am so the experience was only 30 minutes or so longer than if I had gone to a salon. And I paid only $12 instead of $70 or more. I am already looking forward to the next cut. Note that after you book online you can call to add other appointments (facial, nails).

Keep in mind that these are students and they are learning so it will take longer than usual to get your hair done, but they are supervised by the educators.

The students seem to receive a comprehensive education even before taking clients to continue their skills in a real setting. The teachers are always available for them to ask questions and constantly walk around checking on the students to offer tip and advice. The review what the student is going to do before they start, usually check in again while they are working, and then perform a final check and help with adjustments for the perfect cut or color if needed. I never worried about whether I was going to walk out happy with what was done to may hair because I knew that they would work to make me happy.

Jaida was excellent... I had the body scrub, Tulasara facial w/plant peel. Excellent price for Excellent detailed service and the amount of time they give you. I was pleasantly surprised that they have individual rooms. I was concerned abt this bc apparently some of the schools just have large rooms with several clients and students. So I loved the private clean, calming room. The only negative for me is the product prices. Theyre quite expensive even for my splurge budget, even the small sizes are highly priced. They try to sell you the products they use on you during the service, but average everyday people like myself just cant afford them. I think the staff knows theyre expensive bc fortunately they Dont harass you to buy or make it uncomfortable. I appreciate that I dont feel pressured to make a purchase. I highly recommend the services! Cant wait to book my next pampering day. One more thing I think that the fact that theyre students its a plus. Theyre fresh and learning and still love what they do. Theyre not yet burnt out and only going through the motions of the day. They all seem still fresh and passionate about what they do so the service is wonderful.

I am big on reviews so I thought I would leave a detailed one for people looking to check this place out. I have been coming here for I think 4 years now. I have had good experiences and not so good ones but anytime I may have encountered an issue like a hair mistake, it has ALWAYS been taken care of. You are going here because it has great prices with amazing Aveda products but remember they are students and things can happen. Not very often, but they can so some of these reviews I feel are a little unreasonable.They will redo anything you are unhappy with. Bring pictures and really tell the student what you want so there is no miscommunication. The only problem that has ever been a real issue for me is if my scheduled stylist called in sick then my appointment was cancelled. I find going during the week they have more people available if someone calls out since it is not as busy as the weekends tend to be. I love the atmosphere and vibe here. The products are great, all natural and animal testing free. I try new students all the time and have never found one I didnt like.

Only one time was I slightly unhappy. One side was slightly shorter. The staff told me to come back and they fixed it right away. Always a good experience.

Had a wonderful experience at Aveda Institute in Davie thanks to Talika and her serious talent with foils and color services. She gave me her undivided attention for hours to help me get the most flawless full head of highlights I’ve ever gotten. Honestly it looks better than the foils I’ve paid big money for from the most pricey high end salons in this area. The instructor was very helpful as well! Not only was Talika incredibly fun and friendly, she gave an amazing scalp massage, shampoo, gloss, and finished my stay at Aveda with a very even trim and silky smooth blowout. She even helped me find some products I needed in the lobby at the end. Love my hair again for the first time in long time, thank you so so much!

I was so impressed with Aveda! From the time I walked in, I was treated special. Gillian was the student who did my cut and color. She was amazing! Her educator (I believe her name was Chloe) was exceptional. I love my cut and the color is awesome. I would highly recommend Aveda to everyone. Going back next month!

I always go to Aveda Institute to take care of my hair. They do take a long time, but you have to remember that these people are students and they still are in the process of learning. Of course the teachers/supervisors are around to help if needed, my favorite (of teachers) is Jay, and always try to ask for his area. Good prices and wonderful products, great deal! But you have to be patient, otherwise dont even try it. So far, Ive been very satisfied with the services performed on my hair :)

I love the products and love the way they cut and blow dry hair...The students are excellent and, above all, extremely nice . Ive had manicures and pedicures there, as well, and liked the results.My only disappointment was with having my hair colored. I tried twice and both times resulted in a much darker color than explained. The products treated my hair very well and a conditioner after the process left my hair very easy to control and very shiny.Ive had two massages at the Institute and both were amazing. They really undertand the muscles and bones of the body. I would say that they are fantastic in handling any situation but, in my case, a very bad arthritis condition in my knees and shoulder.

I have frequented this Aveda numerous times and find that the staff and students are quite accommodating. Of course, they are students and learning so occasionally there may be a need for some patience. On the whole, I have usually been satisfied with the services I requested, which are color and cut. Being an ex-hairdresser and make-up artist, I understand the difficulties that might arise with different patrons. Im confident the students and supervisors do try to do their very best with all the clients that need attention.

Aveda was recommended to me by a friend. So happy I went there! Got a haircut. Covid-19 precautions were adhered to from start to finish, very professionally. The hairstylist, Kayla, listened to my request. She and her advisor worked with me and I am so pleased with the results. I have frizzy curly hair and they understood how to style it. This was my first visit and I went for a full color. I have never considered Aveda before now because I didnt know if they were trained to work with black hair. I also did not know what to expect as these are students styling hair so when I booked online I requested a senior student (the price is higher).When you enter, the institute is basically an Aveda store. And a big bonus for me (I love aveda products) is that they carry a lot of products that have been discontinued in the stores, like the Brilliant line.The students are assisted at different stages of the process by a professor who will spot check to make sure all is going well. They (Beverley/Rebecca) asked me questions and did a thorough consult with me before the service about the color and my hair (I had henna at one point so that was important to mention) to make sure everything went well. The color was not exactly what I showed them a picture of but it actually turned out even better than I planned!Kudos to my stylist Beverly for a wonderful hair experience!

This place is fascinating. i really enjoyed going here with my mother to get facials. they are gentle as possible (except for the exfoliation but it’s impossible to be gentle there haha) and everybody was so sweet. they are so friendly and lively and it’s interesting because you are essentially what the students practice on! no worries though, they are very talented and know their stuff. my only problem is that the products and facials can be a tad bit expensive, but still very nice nonetheless

Ive been coming here for more than 4 years. I had great experiences, and some not that great. When the result is not what I expected theyre always promptly to accommodate and help fix whatever needs to be fixed. I read several not good reviews (to say the least) and it seems that people forget that this is NOT a salon, it is a SCHOOL. Services are done by students who are learning, yes they are slow, yes some of them are scared as hell to deal with difficult people for the first time. So if youre not ready to deal with that, then by all means go somewhere else, instead of bashing the STUDENTS. Products are great quality, and prices are good. If you dont like something, just say it (with good manners of course, no need to be rude), everybody there will be happy to assist. It happened to me.

I wanted to change my style quite a bit with my recent hair cut and actually thought I arrived with corresponding pictures. Only problem was that the internet remained down for my entire visit. There was nothing simple that I wanted, especially with fine silky hair. Luckily, the premier iinstructor heard our discussion and opted to provide on the spot teaching for both my master stylist and I. He was humble, hands on, encouraging and complimentary with my process, but showed and explained how to tweak things a bit more for desired results It was the best!

I love Aveda institute for ALMOST all of my salon and spa needs. I have been getting cut, color and sometimes highlight services here for over 5 years. Only a couple of issues and they were sure to take care of the problems. I have also had the BEST massage of my life here. The only thing I would not recommend is the nail services. It doesnt seem the students are skilled in them and the polish just peels off anyway since they changes to a more natural one. I love natural products, but the polish does not do it for me. I will definitely keep coming back!

I love Aveda! I have been going there since they opened. Yesterday I had a root touch up and hair cut by Savannah. She was great! Abigail helped with the cut since it was something new they learned that morning. I used Smiley the last few times who I also adored. Glad she will be Aveda certified, but had to transfer to the GA location. I love all my Aveda hair products as well. The only thing negative point I have to say is that you have the highest turnover of educators. Being a business women that speaks VOLUMES. As an HR manager for an extremely large corporation it signals you all have a problem. Something to think about. Treat your people great and they will treat you great.

I had a decent experience at this salon! I’m from Canada and currently live in Florida for school. I didn’t read any reviews prior to my service. I knew it was cheap and I wanted to lighten my hair a bit. When I arrived at the salon, I was greated, but it was quite busy! I was asked to fill out a form and just wait. I didn’t wait too long, I might have been taken in about 15 minutes past my appointent time, but I wasn’t too worried. I sat down and I disucessed what I wanted with the student stylist. Before anything was done, my hair was ombre with my natural hair at the top. I told her that I was hoping for it to be lighter overall. She told me that the best way to do it was to do balyage. So I said ok, but was worried about the price.Overall, I was there for a total of probably 5 hours. The styles, named Payton, had incredible attention to detail and she knew what she was doing! Everyone passing her was complimenting her. She used cotton to separate the strand of hair, which she later decided she didn’t like because it was impossible to get out, but I didn’t mind. When my hair was finished and washed out, it took her and another stylist what felt like 30 minutes to brush it. I wish she put a condition or detangler in it, and i never understood why she didn’t, but i’m not the stylist! The toner she used didn’t completely elimiate the yellow/orange undertones, which had disappointed me. However, this was the products fault, not the stylist. She blew dried my hair and then twisted it into curles and pinned them. When she took all the pins out my hair was huge cinderella hair! It was very nice!She did everything she was supposed to, definitely a true stylist! She told me she was graduating in about 5 weeks (I believe) and she would definitely be a great addition to any salon! Also, they told me the price would be $120 (which I thought was incredible considering I spent $600 at a salon at home), and when I got to the counter they gave me $20 off because it was my first time! I was very happy.The reason I’m giving 4 stars and not 5 is because I didn’t like the toner they use. It didn’t give my hair that ashy look I was hoping for, I honestly felt like it did nothing. The toners they use at home literally change the colour of your hair and this one just didn’t. Also, I was wearing a black shirt that I had bought the day before. I asked her to make sure my hair wasn’t touching my shirt, and she assured me it wasn’t. But I think I made her nervous, so she wet a towel and was wiping off the bleach on the gown. Unfortunetly, it ended up going through the gown and left my shirt with bleach spots all down the back. Not terrible, but still present.I emailed the salon and someone got back to me immediately and offered me the $18 difference on my next service at the salon (the cost of the shirt). I was fine with that considering my service only cost me $100 bucks. I do think I was very lucky with the stlyist I got! The girl getting her hair done across from me didn’t look as lucky!Overall, I had a really good experience!

My experience last week at Aveda was wonderful. The first time I was there I had a seizure and ended up in the emergency room at Westside Regional Hospital. I didnt realize what had happened at all until I came to in the emergency room. I just had the most amazing massage at Aveda. The student and instructor were very skilled. I have had a lingering pain above my temples that I never realized was connected to my jaw and thus my neck. It seems unbelievable that I have been to SO MANY massage therapists and chiropractors and not one ever thought to touch the temporal region above my ears and TMJ muscle. Both have hurt to the touch for years, but it became my normal, so I dismissed it daily. When Paula mentioned this was also connected to my neck and shoulder pain, everything finally made sense. Thank you Evanna and Paula for helping me! They took their time and really listened to my concerns. My jaw is in significantly less pain, as are both sides of my temples, neck, and shoulders. I will be coming back next week!

I love going to the Aveda Institute- its always clean and it smells wonderful! The stylists are in training but Ive never had a cut I didnt like. One of the best bargains in South FL. It would cost 2-3 times as much at a neighborhood hair salon for me to get the color and cut I get at Aveda. Well worth the drive from Homestead. On top of what I get, I am also providing a head of hair for future hairdressers who will contribute to the legitimate economy and pay taxes. Im telling you, what could be better.
