    I decided to make the big change of going from long hair to short hair. Scary and exciting! I had the most amazing experience with Rosie at Mode Salon and I couldn’t be happier with the cut she gave me. She is super friendly, very easy to work with and incredibly talented. She gave me great feedback about the photos I brought in so that I was sure to make the best decision for my hair, face and personality.I will definitely be going back to her for my cuts in the future and I would highly recommend her to anybody looking for a fabulous cut and/or color.And of course a before and after, because it’s what we all really want to see.

    I’ve been visiting Mode Salon East for years, and I always leave with amazing hair! Ive been a client of Brent’s for a few years, and he truly listens and pays attention to detail. With a few gray hairs coming in, I wanted a balayage, and Brent helped me achieve a warm balayage that I absolutely love. Not only does Brent take his craft seriously, but he also shares his expertise with other salon specialists around Florida. Overall, the staff is wonderful, and the vibes are fantastic. I highly recommend checking out Mode Salon!

    Last month was my first time with Rosie. I have short combination wavy and straight hair. Rosie took the time to give me a great haircut that falls into place when blow drying. She was both friendly and professional. She offered advice that I didn’t even think of. Everyone at the shop was pleasant. Will go back for a haircut and surface foil tomorrow.

    Ive been here twice and have not had a bad experience yet. The first time i visited, Karen cut my hair, she was so sweet, great to chat with. On my most recent visit, there was a communication error with scheduling an appt for my friend and myself. The receptionist was not the most understanding when I explained what had happened, however, when I explained the situation to Rose, she was happy to accommodate both of us. Rose was an absolute peach of a person, fun to chat with and just the sweetest. I will 100% be visiting Rose in the future. Thanks, Rose 💜

    Rosie Allen is the best! Weve been going to see her for almost two years now. Shes great with kids cuts as well as mens and womens. Shes professional, kind, fun, and has actually become a good friend. The salon itself is lovely and professional. We have been pleased every time we have gone. No complaints.

    My wife daughter and son all went to Brent this week and they all look amazing!!! We just moved into town and changing stylists is always a hard transition. We couldnt be happier.The cut he did on my son is beyond PERFECT.     I’ve had my hair colored at a fair few places, and every time it’s turned out just a little less cool/vivid than what I pictured in my head. Rose is the first stylist to get my hair to look WAY cooler than I even imagined it would be. I absolutely recommend her for both cuts and color, and the salon itself is very cute and welcoming :)

    Every time I’ve come to Mode East it’s been the best experience with stylist Rose Henderson: she has definitely gained a loyal customer. She is the most patient and kind individual who has ever worked with my hair. Not only do I always feel comfortable to ask questions throughout our appointment, but she is very clear and honest about the steps she will need to take as well as what to expect. Each and every time she takes the time to listen and discuss what I’m looking for, and nails exactly what I’m envisioning. Go to Mode East for Rose, you’ll love her!

    Rose did an amazing job coloring and styling my hair! It was my first time having my hair professionally colored; she was very attentive, kind, and nice throughout the whole process.     Probably the best haircut I’ve ever had with fine curly hair most cuts end up a disaster Alexia did a great job and has a great demeanor. I was able to schedule for same day online which makes things super easy as someone with a busy inconsistent schedule

    Anthony does a great job on my fine, thin hair. Hes a bit of a talker, but a sweet person so what he says is not taxing to hear. And, he makes me feel relevant. I finally feel like I got myself a hair stylist I can count on. My 15-year-old son likes him as well (because, you know, hes punk cool).     The whole team at Mode is most delightful. My hair experience is such a a treat from the moment I pull into the parking lot. The expansive front porch and original details on the building are inviting and so cool. I get a nice selection of hot tea while I wait. Rosie does an excellent job with both the cut and the color of my wild, thick hair, and is also really great company. Upon checkout, the gals at the front desk remarked that my hair was giving Topanga vibes, so that certainly was a win!

    Today was my first experience at Mode salon East and it was great! I saw Alex Lopez for a balayage and hair cut. Alex took the time, in the beginning, to really understand my hair wishes and executed perfectly...asking me questions throughout. Alex is simply Ahmaaazing! A true artist! Alex was very friendly, professional, and really knows his stuff. He made my dream hair become a reality. Thank you, Alex! Also, Mode salon East is very well laid out in a beautiful historic home in downtown Gainesville--a unique experience. All the other staff members that I encountered were very friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

    Im a woman in her 50s who over-plucked her brows back in the early 80s. Have never been good with makeup so Ive just walked around scantily browed for years. Elise microbladed them yesterday and they look great! They dont look too heavy. Very subtle, but finally I have them! It looks like real hair. Dont let the cost fool you into thinking its subpar work. She does a great job. If youre thinking of microblading your brows, I recommend you get in with her before the secret of her service gets out!

    Ive been coming for two years now and I love it here! The environment of the salon is comforting and gorgeous. When you buy certain products and bring the empty bottle back, they will refill it for you at a discount. Lily Moore is the stylist that I see consistently, shes the best! Im sure everyone there is great:) You wont be disappointed coming here!

    Ive been going to this salon for about two years now. Its just so nice, cozy and professional. Every stylist Ive had has been great. Currently, my stylist is Lily and she goes above and beyond. After going to her about four times, she remembers what I like even though theres months in-between sessions. To be safe (due to experiences not on mode salon), I show her a picture but she also remembers how I like volume on my waves while shes styling my hair. I always leave this salon feeling my absolute best. Lily deserves all the praise.

    I got a facial done with Katy today and it was AMAZING! I have never had one done and did not realize how in-depth these services are. Katy truly took her time and made sure I was comfortable, relaxed, and getting the most bang for my buck. I couldn’t believe how long it lasted and how much she took care of my skin.     I visited Mode Salon - East this past Saturday and had a lovely experience. This is the first haircut I’ve had since moving to the Gainesville area so I was a bit nervous, but Lily did a wonderful job listening to my requests and cutting my hair to match! Ive had multiple services done here.Artist: Jessica GiavasisProcedure: MicrobladingDate: June 2017When I decided to have my eyebrows microbladed I spent months researching; the process, different techniques, and artists. After a few months of stalking Jessica on social media, I decided to book a consultation. She talked to me about her process and what kind of results I could expect to see. She was very open and easy to talk to. She listened to my concerns and what I wanted from the procedure.When I showed up to my first session appointment, I was extremely nervous. Jessica spent as much time as we needed to measure, draw, adjust, and readjust the size and shape of my new brows. We talked about pigment colors and what would look most natural with my hair color and skin tone. We even talked about the direction and length of the individual strokes! Once the first round of strokes was laid down, any apprehension I had just melted away. It was so exciting to watch my new brows develop and Jessica allowed me to be as involved as I wanted the whole time.If you are on the fence about microblading, or unsure of who you want as your artist, trust me, you want Jessica. She is the BEST! I’m so happy with my decision to use her and my results are beyond what I imagined.     I have had a great 2 experiences so far! Came in for a hair cut and color. The color wasnt able to be done that day due to what I wanted done. Well the lady (Maybelline) was great! She cut my hair EXACTLY how I wanted it then she went and made an apt for me at their sister salon Soni could get a consult for my hair color! Came in today for my consult and Rose was amazing! She made sure I understood the upkeep for what I want done and was straight forward with mean the process and price! I cant wait for my apt to get my hair colored! Thank u mode salon and Maybelline and Rose! Its so hard to find a great hair dresser who actually listens!

    I have been going to Mode on and off since they opened. I have never had a bad experience here. Today I got a great cut from Anthony. He listened to what I wanted and made it happen! It is hard to find someone who cuts womens short hair well and I am so thankful I found Anthony. Ill definitely be going back to him in the future. I also love the Davines products that they sell here, they last forever and smell great.

    I booked a lash lift and lip wax at mode salon! The day of I was running extremely behind and knew I would be over an hour late for my appointment. They were OVERLY kind and were able to push my appointment back and did not charge me any extra, I know how lucky I am and how kind they are to do that for me! I can’t tell you how much that meant to me as I was driving 4 hours to receive the services. Elise did an INCREDIBLE job on my lash lift and lip wax. I will recommend mode to everyone I know and they have gained a life long client!!

    I’ve been getting my haircuts here for almost a year now, always with Lily. I LOVE how it turns out every time! She is always able to see my vision and get everything just right! She also takes the cut in increments and checks in with me during the process to make sure I’m liking the direction. I always appreciate this because I’ve been traumatized by stylists in the past who have gone way too short. The place itself is a fun historic building and a nice quiet atmosphere inside. Love this salon so much!

    My 2 kids and I went to see Brett for 2 cuts and color for me. He mastered all 3 requests like a hair styling ninja. My son is hard to deal with hair wise and he was chill and accommodating.     Recently moved to the area. I called earlier this week and requested to make (4) appointments for the same time - 1 adult, 2 eight year olds and 1 eleven year old. Most places you can hear cringe through the telephone, BUT NOT THIS SALON. The desk staff and (3) stylist were absolutely lovely and more than accommodating. Appointments started on time and everyone left with exactly what they wanted. The stylists that serviced the kids were so patient and skilled. I was also thrilled when I saw the line of products they carry as most places don’t, now I don’t have to pay shipping lol. One stop shop! We will be back for sure.

    I had a very challenging cut and highlight request and Anthony BEYOND delivered.Before Image: You can see the hideous peach color my hair had faded to. I had highlights and toned in-salon (at a previous salon out of state) to achieve a vivid red-orange look and was using a color-depositing semi-permanent shampoo to maintain the color in-between salon visits but wasnt happy with how it looked over time (I am a daily shower-er, so colored hair just isnt in the cards for me).I had a consultation with Anthony (which I STRONGLY recommend so you can get a frank evaluation of your realistic goals and options) and he felt confident we could counteract the brass in a session after a few weeks of washing at home. Partly I also recommend a consultation to see what you can do before the appointment to make it go as smoothly as possible and make your goals more accessible.I also decided in the interim that I wanted more than a trim - you can see how the layers I had on longer hair looked very frizzy and unflattering on my fine hair in the Florida humidity. I asked Anthony if a blunt bob would be achievable and he said definitely.Not only is the outcome stunning - but the entire experience was so comfortable and educational. Outcome wise, I couldnt be more thrilled with the brightness we achieved in a single highlight/toning session and I was so impressed with his precision and care on a notoriously tricky cut.In addition to incredible skill, Anthony was so relaxed and will quickly put a brand new client (like me!) at ease, even with a long day. He gave a thorough explanation of goals/what could go wrong, and even consulted a fellow stylist to ensure he was using the best approach possible (for those who are working with existing color/color correction, you WANT a stylist with humility!). He reviewed the price as well and was nonjudgmental about budgeting needs (especially when also reviewing products/maintenance expectations). Strategizing for future appointments felt easy and without a tinge of upselling - he laid out various options for different lifestyles and expectations, which I so appreciated.He also narrated everything he was doing to the hair both in terms of cut/highlight *and* styling, allowing for ease of dialogue and questions for long-term maintenance and daily replication of the look at home. He had thorough insight into products, tools, techniques, the works - and tips along the way for someone less advanced in styling (me).Honestly, this appointment just felt like a fun day with a friend -- who happened to also make you look and feel like a model! I cannot recommend Anthonys services enough.ALSO - I am a fragrance addict and SO appreciated that they scent the salon using Aroma 360 equipment - to me, smells in a spa atmosphere (massage, hair, nails, waxing, etc.) are a vital part of making me feel transported to a place of serenity. Beautiful facility and laid-back, yet upscale atmosphere!

    I chose Mode for wedding hair and makeup, and had a wonderful experience! They made the salon such a welcoming place to get ready with the whole bridal party, and were able to accommodate all 8 of us.     I’ve been here twice now and had Lily both times. She’s AMAZING; incredibly talented and spends as much time as she has to to make sure that you’re satisfied. The receptionist is very welcoming and helpful too. Prices are great and the shampoo that they use smells so good. I’ve been sending all of my friends here and don’t think I’ll ever go to a different salon in Gainesville!Edit: I’ve now seen Lily four times and I’m never disappointed!     I have been to MANY salons here in Gaineville and have to say that Mode Salon is the best. I have never felt so welcome at a salon before! The first person I saw was Kylie and since then I have been going to her, shes great with coloring and I usually get full foils.Recently, I had foils done and the toner was darker than what I wanted. I didnt really give her direction on how light I wanted my hair and so there was a gap in communication. A couple days after the coloring I contacted Kylie and explained to her that I was unhappy with the color and wanted to fix it. I always feel bad coming to a stylist about something I didnt like, especially cause I felt like it was my fault! However, her reaction was SO nice and sincere. She got me in as soon as she could and completely redid the foils complementary!!! The second time around I was more communicative with her on the color I wanted and it came out perfectly. She was so patient and the owner or manager (not sure) even came over and discussed with me what the plans were with my hair.Overall, the service is amazing and the stylists and management are SO nice and patient with you and they really know what they are doing. The salon is really worth the money and I will definitely be a long term customer!

    Emily Pinsky has been doing my hair for years and theres no one else I would trust with it! I followed her when she moved to Mode Salon and I absolutely love it there, their products make a huge difference on my hair. Emilys work is meticulous and always exactly what I ask for.     Today was only my first visit to Mode Salon, but Im excited to go back in ten weeks! I had my haircut with Alex, who is kind, funny, and incredibly talented at his job!     I came here for a haircut and loved it! Ive only gotten my hair cut by one woman the last 10 years so I was very nervous. I called for an appt and got Zoe, and couldnt have been happier! She was very comforting and knowledgeable about hair, I didnt have any concerns once I met her. My hair came out great and I would definitely recommend coming here to see her! The salon as a whole seemed more professional than I had thought, and was very busy the entire time. They are decently priced as well!     I was in an emergency need to have my hair look good for an interview. I had really made a mess of my hair for years trying to dye it myself. It took Claudia a long time to remove the crazy damage I did and replace it with professional wonderful hair. I got the job and told Claudia I would never do my own hair again! I still go to her 1.5 years later and I am so happy with my hair and all the staff. I really enjoy that they are able to schedule a mini pedi with Christin while my hair is developed.     I received a Brazilian blowout service from Brittany and had an excellent experience. She was extremely gentle on my hair, engaging and listened to my advice on how best to work with my hair. She was patient and even stayed after hours due to the fact that I have very thick textured hair that is more challenging to work with. While other stylists have become frustrated she was willing to stay as long as it took. The manager of the Salon, Lonnie even came by several times to make sure I was being taken care of well. I love Mode salon and will never go anywhere else for my salon services. They have excellent pedicures and facials as well. Very best quality salon in Gainesville.

    After extensive research I opted for Mode Salon East where I was greeted by a lovely receptionist and offered a drink as I waited to meet Kylie my new hairstylist. Kylie was pleasant to speak with, patient, and attentive. She took the time to explain processes based on my hair condition.     I called at 10 & got an appointment at 11 and the voice on the other end was extremely cheerful and kind, off to a good start.I arrived to find the most adorable house tastefully converted into a hair salon. A touch of history met with modern. It’s worth stopping just to see.My appointment was with Rosie and when I walked in I was greeted within a few minutes from the person who was working the front desk. I waited for a little bit which gave me time to admire this old house and maul over all of the products they have on display. Loads of specialty items for hair and body. I observed a massage table in one of the rooms and a section for pedicures and manicures so it appears that they’ve got us covered in one spot. With saying that I think I was a few minutes early and they did get me in at the last minute.Rosie who is as sweet and polite as anyone can be, greeted me with a warm smile and hand shake. I noticed a person hobbling around who seemed to be having a bad morning or just not warm and fuzzy. Which is kind of irrelevant other than she is a staff member, and was sitting at the welcome desk at the end of my visit still not being the face all cherry upon entering an establishment. Back to the positive. Rosie listened to what I was looking to gain from my appointment and offered several suggestions. Which means she was truly listening to me in the beginning. I wanted something easy. She was pleasant the entire time and I spent almost 3 hours with her. Might sound long but when she gets a customer that is not exactly sure of everything she wants, I think she did beautifully. I wish I could take her with me. By the way I’m visiting and needed something done with my hair.I love it. It would be worth the 3 hour drive to come back to her.It’s extremely pricey, it was much more than I had intended, but what isn’t anymore and I walked out looking amazing. The price will not deter me if I’m able to make it beck here. I would definitely stick with her. I am so pleased with the outcome. It makes me feel young and sassy. Thank you Rosie you have a beautiful talent. Remember you can not please everyone ALL of the time but you can please most of them MOST of the time. If you see a bad review don’t let that one take away all of the good.

    I never heard of micro-bladed eyebrows until my daughter suggested it. Jessica at Mode Salon East has done my eyebrows several times now and theyre wonderful. I dont want anything that looks unnatural. What she does makes my brows look fuller and better, but doesnt make people notice my brows specifically. People just think I look better! I recommend Jessica whole-heartedly.

    It’s such a great environment! It’s clean. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. The workers really care about you and what’s best for your hair. Your appointment is always customized to what you want and what you hair needs whether that’s a shampoo for more moisturizer or volume! I love it!     I just got a haircut here after hearing several recommendations from friends and I was so happy with the result. I usually head in for pedicures, a brow wax or for a quick up-do for a special occasion but this time I went in for a cut and color with Eugene. What an experience! We discussed my needs and preferences before starting, he whipped out the ipad and look book to make sure we had our perfect plan for what color and tone I preferred. Refreshments were offered. Lonnie, the owner, stopped by to chat and also to compliment Eugene on his work several times during my appointment.     Excellent salon, with wonderful people. Alex is my hair stylist, and he is just the best. Great for short hairstyles (and I’m sure all hairstyles, but my hair happens to be short). He’s done everything from 1940s classic to pony hawk on my hair, and it has always looked fabulous. Also, Mode is the only salon in town with Davines products, which are made in Italy to extremely high standards for environmental sustainability. All-natural ingredients, and even the packaging is biodegradable. This salon feels like it belongs in a much larger city. It’s a level up from other salons I’ve been to in town, and the prices are reasonable. Love it!

    I found this salon by accident while doing a google search. I called and was able to book and appointment with a junior stylist within half an hour the same day! Upon entering the facility you are greeted by two smiling faces, ready to offer you a cold drink or hot coffee. There was no waiting for my stylist Brent, he immediately came out and welcomed me with a warm greeting. He showed me around the Salon and explained their products to me. Then he was very patient with me while we spoke about what I wanted with my specific face shape, and he also was willing and able to give me a professional opinion. I didn’t feel awkward ever or like I had to speak the entire time. The end results were exactly what I was hoping and looking for! I will definitely be returning and telling all my friends.     My go-to choice for haircuts and hair wash products. It is worth it every time since they cut your hair very well. Attendants and hairdressers are incredibly nice and welcoming. Im not one to like going to salons at all since I feel annoyed with the noise and loud people talking in the background, but this one is really comforting. I could talk at ease with my hairdresser about all sorts of things and feel relaxed. The shampoo and conditioner set Ive bought are from davines, an italian brand with organic sustainable products. It works amazigly well with my hair unlike years of Paul Mitchel that would do the trick once in a while. I believe inicial price was $40 each, but it lasts for 3-4 months and it costs $20 for the refill. Amazing place overall.

    Alex is fantastic! I am very picky, and have never not liked a color he has created. The atmosphere is centered on wellness and they will do everything to make sure you love your hair and are taken care of.

    Recently moved to Gainesville. Having previously lived in Manhattan and Boca Raton, I had high expectations for a hair stylist and was pleasantly surprised when I visited Mode Salon.Alyssa did an amazing job.     Brittany was great! I took my daughter to Brittany for her back to school haircut. My daughter has textured hair and Brittany knew exactly how to take care of her hair and how to cut it! She cut it the exact length that she asked for and she left looking and feeling like a rockstar with beachy waves!

    I just want to say what an incredible job Mode is doing to keep their staff and clients safe. I was hesitant to get my hair done due to the rising numbers of Covid in our area, but I felt completely safe when I was there. It is so important for businesses to take spreading this virus seriously, and Mode is leading the charge for sure.

    Best find in Gainesville! Jessica is a great massage therapist. I have used all of her services, facial, mani/pedi and massage. Prices are very reasonable and getting an appointment has never been a problem. The salon is clean and quaint in an old Victorian house. I highly recommend Mode East!

    Mode Salon East is located in a beautiful old home in East Gainesville with an enchanting, expansive front porch and gorgeous wood floors that show years of patina. As soon as you enter through the charming, transomed front door you know you have been transported to somewhere ethereal. The exceptional staff is welcoming and helpful. Ann Marie is a master at her craft and her effervescent spirit is infectious. I always receive so many compliments on my hair and feel beautiful when I leave her chair, so I would gladly follow her anywhere, but Im glad that anywhere is the lovely and pampering Mode Salon East.
