My words will not express my gratitude enough for this dermatology office. From the moment i called frustrated from leaving my previous dermatologist office feeling like I was being not heard and was being pushed off for this or that and not being willing to biopsy a spot I was concerned about.My first appointment I was impressive since I felt heard. I able to explain my situation; actually had my spots examined and questions asked. I even had the biopsies done. I appreciate the doctors advice with using sunscreen even as I say; I seldom leave my house and he kindly reminded me it comes through our windows.From the staff before I became a patient; through my entire appointment, to check out I felt like they cared and I wasn’t just a number. This will definitely be the dermatologist I recommend to others.

At Dr. Donahue Dermatology I felt welcome, well informed of all that was occurring and safe. The staff is amazing! Everyone was friendly and patient as I attempted to navigate the patient portal, always a challenge for me. A dear friend of mine recommended this clinic. Dr. Donahue has served she and her family well for many years. And, I am thankful they were able to get me in quickly for a skin check.

There are video monitors on the wall with feeds giving you information about health, and not just advertisements. The concern for my health was obvious.

On a recent visit, I had interaction with five staff: all were excellent. (1) Front desk welcome was fast; waiting room is sunny and pleasant. (2) Medical assistant, Ellen, promptly came to bring me back to treatment room, where she recorded preliminary information, my reasons for coming in, (3) PA, Diana, arrived shortly after. Good listener, calm, focused, very professional and competent. Great communicator: full explanations given. Necessary procedures performed quickly, calmly. (4) Check-out was friendly, efficient. (5) Final interaction occurred because my car fob had unknowlingly slipped out of my pocket in the waiting room. One of the staff had found it, and had it for me just when I was about to leave. Thanks to her for averting a crisis.I wish that every medical office were run this well. Kudos to Dr. OD and office manager, Barbara, for hiring and managing such a great staff!

I really like that Dr. O’Donoghue does not overbook appointments. When I went to my appointment yesterday, there was only one other patient in the waiting room. Within five minutes, I was shown into a treatment room. The assistant reviewed my information and the doctor came in shortly. He took time to examine me, asked questions, made suggestions and answered my questions.After he left, the assistant also asked if I had any additional questions. She escorted me to check out where I was greeted by Barbara who always remembers me and is also professional and efficient.Several years ago, Dr. O’Donoghue removed a squamous cell cancer from my face using a MOHS procedure. He carefully explained each step of the process.Knowing that I am a statistician who has worked on medical studies, he has shared some of his published research regarding new ways to make surgical cuts that will heal better with no scarring.

The office is beautiful and thoughtful with a “lounge” for their patients all set up with coffee and snacks. I didn’t feel rushed at all and the doctor took his time to answer my many questions and never got annoyed. My exam was very through, better than any I’ve had before AND I’ve seen quite a few Dermatologists over the years.. The office is bright, clean, and they are very COVID aware. Parking is right outside the door in their own building. Very convenient location just off 41 North of Stickney Point.The above review I wrote was over a year ago..... I must have not pressed the post button.Today (6/22/23) I want to express my complete satisfaction with my visit to the office yesterday.Recently I have been under the car of P.A. Diana. In so many ways she is better than most doctors I see elsewhere. She seems sincerely concerned about my skin issues and clearly explains the options. She is very professional and also very personable. I trust her completely. I cannot say enough how pleased I am with her care. That also goes for the many other staff folks I have dealt with in the office. They are all a cut above most offices with their friendliness and competence. Jamie does a good job of scanning your skin and seeing what you cant. Im not careful with sunscreen riding in my open Jeep... But careful otherwise. Its great to walk into the office and out in under a half hour knowing a professional has taken the time to give you a full exam. The treatments he has prescribed for other skin issues have been effective. I dont write posts until I can confirm that I would recommend business. I have quite a few doctors. Dr ODonoghue is one of my favorites. I actually enjoy going to his office. They are always on time. In fact, I usually get done early. Everyone is personable and friendly and even more important, totally genuine. Most medical professionals are competent but Dr. ODonoghue and his staff have something extra. Everyone is very empathetic. I have a disability and use a wheelchair so I cant do a complete dermatologic self exam and I have had melanoma and colon cancer so finding anything amiss is frightening. Dr. ODonoghue sometimes gets down on the floor to check for me. He is extremely thorough. When I had the melanoma and couldnt reach the area, he made sure I had excellent home wound care. Concisely, Dr. ODonoghue and his staff exemplify the best of the medical community. I would recommend them highly. His physician colleagues reccommended him to me and they were completely justified in doing so. This is another update and this time they were helping me reduce lymphedema in my lower extremities. As usual, their out of the box thinking and treatment plan produced great results.

I have been a patient of Dr. O’Donoghue’s since he began practicing dermatology in Sarasota 20 years ago. I live about 45 minutes north of his office but would never even entertain the thought of finding a closer dermatologist. It’s well worth the drive when you’ve established with a medical specialist. We’ve been through many skin cancer treatments and a few small surgeries. Doc diagnosed discoid lupus on my head 14 years ago and I have gone through many treatments for that as well. But today during my 6 month appointment, he gave me an A+ !! The medical staff and office staff are are awesome.
