I am thrilled with the results from my recent eyelid surgery, and laser skin resurfacing, with Dr Derby. The eyelid procedure was something I’ve wanted to do for a few years, however I was hesitant as I have dry eye disease. After my initial consultation with Dr Derby, I knew I was in good hands! We discussed all of my questions, and I never felt rushed at all. He explained the surgery, and his plan to tailor it specifically for me due to my dry eyes. His knowledge, experience, and calming demeanor made me feel so safe and comfortable.Dr Derby and his entire team are so caring, and really made me feel like family. It was honestly a great experience from start to finish, and I’m beyond happy with the results.

I was so fortunate to have surgery with Dr. Derby and his qualified team. I had delayed surgery and was nervous about it due to my age of 75. After having four babies and creeping my way through my 40’s, EVERYTHING started drooping and sagging at an extremely fast pace. It was finally time to do something for ME. I researched several surgeons, in and around the area, and scheduled several consultations. My first (and only) was with Dr. Derby. The moment I walked through the door the entire staff was so kind and welcoming. The nurses made me feel 100% comfortable. Dr. Derby took the time to make sure that I understood and agreed with his recommendations, and he answered all my questions and concerns, never making me feel rushed. I was able to schedule my surgery rather quickly, and I am so incredibly happy I made the decision. Kimberly, the laser specialist, was AMAZING! From start to end I felt my experience at Sarasota Plastic surgery center was top notch. I arrived early to my laser hair removal appointment and was promptly met and taken back for my treatment. During my procedure, Kim made me feel very comfortable and talked me through everything she was doing, the machine she was using and was to expect afterwards. Their laser machine is so expert, the treatment was virtually PAINLESS!! I was in and out within 30 minutes! I HIGHLY recommend Kim and Sarasota Plastic Surgery Center.

When I considered having cosmetic surgery (face lift, temporal brow lift, blepharoplasty) I consulted with several women who had similar procedures done by plastic surgeons in the area. Universally, they highly recommended Dr. Derby and now I can understand why. I met with Dr. Derby and the first thing that I appreciated about him, was that he listened to my concerns and what I hoped to achieve by going through cosmetic surgery. He explained in detail what he thought needed to be done, the outcome I should expect, and the limitations/risks with the procedures to be performed. There are not enough wonderful adjectives to describe my experience with Dr. Derby and the entire staff at Sarasota Plastic Surgery.After a significant weight loss, skin issues, and a failed procedure at another practice, I struggled with confidence for many years. After much consideration, I did a lot of research, and finally made an appointment to see Dr. Derby. There is a reason why you may have to wait a good amount of time for an appointment, because this office is everything you would hope for in a cosmetic surgeon.They run a well oiled machine! A smoother running operation and terrific communication I have never encountered in a medical practice.My initial appointment, as well as every follow up appointment, was always on schedule. The front office staff is extremely friendly and organized.Each of the nurses (especially Lisa) and Dr. Derby always took their time to completely explain the procedure and to listen to any questions or concerns my husband and I had. I never felt pressured into anything, and Dr. Derby consistently made it clear that his goal was to make me happy with the final results.As far as the procedure, it’s only been a month, but I am so happy with the results and I am very excited to see how my healing progresses in the upcoming months. I had been considering breast augmentation for years, but I was nervous about the risks and possibly would have never done it if it hadnt been for a friend raving about her experience with Dr. Derby. During my initial appointments, Dr. Derby and his staff were SO patient in explaining how the procedure and recovery would go and answering my many, many questions. They made me feel comfortable with moving forward (without ever being pushy, mind you) and I was surprised with how smooth the procedure and recovery ended up being. One thing that really left an impression on me was Dr. Derby telling me after the procedure that he went a little smaller than he originally planned because he knew I was concerned about the implants looking too big and unnatural on my small frame. He took thorough notes and met with me several times prior to my surgeries to ensure he fully understood my goals and I understood the process. He also ensured I had a reasonable expectation of the results which is very important for all patients. Dr. Engels nurses were also involved in every step and are equally as impressive! I went into surgery fully prepared and ready for the recovery phase.The aftercare was incredible! Dr. Engel and his staff were available 24/7 and I saw Dr. Engel in person numerous times as he monitored my progress. You’re not going to get better care anywhere, seriously! While in good hands, I found the key to successful healing and minimal scarring is to follow instructions, rest, hydrate, and have someone help you for at least a week. I also use, to this day, Silagen gel and sheets on my scars and do Intense Pulsed Laser (IPL) Photorejuvenation therapy monthly.I’m super pleased with the results and look amazing, at least thats what I keep hearing from everyone I meet! I’ve now had multiple procedures, from minor things like lipoma removal to major surgery for help with tail bone pain. I had been considering a breast reduction for some time and finally asked a friend for a recommendation...as soon as I met Dr. Derby...I knew I was going to have the procedure....he listened to me and explained clearly what he could do to achieve the best outcome for me. The day of my procedure...the operating suite staff were so calming...when I got home that evening Dr. Derby personally called me to make sure I was doing ok. Amazing experience. This office is really well organized and efficient. The staff is incredible from front office check in, pre op nurses, OR nurses, follow up nurses, and of course physicians. I work in healthcare so while kindness is important to me, competence/skill set, and safety supersede that in my list of priorities. Dr. Engel is straightforward, realistic, and a perfectionist. He listened, and gave me my options. This office does not push unnecessary/additional procedures, which is refreshing in this field. What really makes Dr. Engel stand out versus another surgeon (offering enticing discounts) is his commitment to his work and patient. I elected to do breast aug./revision and facial fat grafting. I did not want huge implants/ nor a lift to give me a perkier look. I also did not want a fake plastic looking face. As things go, he encountered a couple a surprises. The easy approach and more common approach would have been to shove a bigger implant in and call it a day. Giving me short term okay results. Instead... he took extra time to fix everything and stay true to what I asked. Giving me long term results. No extra/surprises charges. My results (though still early) by far supersede any expectations that I had. The surgery center uses anesthesiologists that are known amongst healthcare providers to be safe and engaged with their patients. I understand and pictured every worst case scenario because I have worked with them. This team and office instantly alleviated those fears. You are also literally 2 minutes away from SMH. They have me for life. Highly recommend.

I had my surgery on Thursday. In less than a week I look almost normal. I have very little swelling.or pain. Ive been able to go back to work -probably working about half time the first few days and now back to almost 70%. The nusrses were wonderful-answered all my questions and returned my calls between visits to deal with my concerns. I highly reommend the new silagen and the arnica drug. They have made a major difference in the swelling.. Dr. Mobley is a true artist. He has done fabulous work. He is very easy to talk to and great at explaining things. I have a friend who had similar surgery by a different doctor and she was much more bruised and incompacitated than I am. Attached is my picutre of what I look like at day 6.

Dr.Engel is kind, compassionate, professional, and extremely talented. I put my trust in him and his team and they exceeded my expectations!! I went to him for (breast) reconstructive surgery. He took my mental health, physical health, genetic predispositions, future (as I am young, planning to have children one day and breastfeed), and finances seriously (during covid nonetheless) from the consult all the way through post op checkups. The nurses are beyond thoughtful and their office staff is always warm AND professional. I would trust Dr.Engel and his team TEN TIMES OVER.

From start to finish my experience could not have been better. After several consults, I chose Dr. Engle to perform my mommy makeover, which included revisions of previous procedures. Dr. Mobley is one of the nicest men and a great Plastic Surgeon! I have referred a number of friends to him and they all have been very satisfied with his work. I encouraged them to get second opinions, which they did, and all decided to move forward with Dr. Mobley. As a patient you want a physician who takes the time to listen to your concerns and most importantly will not push a surgery on you that isnt warranted! Dr. Mobley is that physician. Having been a patient of his for over 20 years Ive never experienced a time when he encouraged me to do a procedure that wasnt needed. In fact Dr. Mobley has a habit of saying you dont need that now....come back in a year and we will take a look at it then! . Its very reassuring to know hes not doing an unnecessary procedure just to make money. Positive outcomes and patient happiness are his ultimate goals! Hes great at both!!

I visited SPSC for IPL treatments by Kim Dearden, I am beyond satisfied with the results. Im a florida-born girl and have had a fair share of sun spots along with acne scarring and other scars on my face, they are gone! Kim has been extremely helpful about making me more aware of sun damage and wearing sunscreen whenever outdoors.The staff at SPSC are all very courteous and the cleanliness of the office is immaculate. Thanks to Dr. Scott J. Engel, January is the month of my rebirth as well as my birth. During my routine mammogram last year I was told my left silicone breast implant had ruptured . The diagnosis was confirmed by an MRI. I contacted several board certified plastic surgeons in the Sarasota area. I decided on Dr. Engel due to his expertise in replacing breast implants and his reputation as a perfectionist. It was one of the very best decisions of my life. During my surgery Dr. Engel discovered my left implant was in pieces and my right implant also had ruptured. Fortunately there was no extracapsular silicone in either breast. I am eternally grateful to Dr. Engel for the outstanding results he achieved, which greatly exceeded by expectations.Now I am a 55-year-old woman with the breasts of a 30-year-old woman. My breasts are beautiful, in perfect proportion to my nipples, and already look and feel totally natural. I am especially impressed by Dr. Engel’s accuracy and artistry in giving me breasts inspired by Marilyn Monroe, per the photos we reviewed prior to my surgery. Dr. Engel also is exceptionally caring, compassionate and conscientious. He performed my surgery on New Year’s Eve and personally conducted my first post-op exam on New Year’s Day. The staff of the the Sarasota Plastic Surgery Center also was very helpful. I am honored to provide my very highest recommendation for Dr. Engel and the Sarasota Plastic Surgery Center.
