    I just had my first appointment with Nick, and I’m extremely impressed! I was initially nervous about going to a new barber, but Nick put me at ease right away. He worked quickly yet with incredible precision. His attention to detail is unmatched, the cut was fast, the quality was top-notch.I left with exactly the style I was hoping for and couldn’t be happier with the result. If youre looking for a barber who’s efficient without compromising on quality, Nick is the one to see. Highly recommend!

    Took my two young boys there and the stylists (Felix and Cameron) were great with them. Treated them with respect, listened to what they wanted, redirected them kindly when they needed them to do something (eg stay still), and their cuts look great.

    Went to get a fade, a shave, and a wash. I had just gotten off work and Debbie took great care of me, made sure I was comfortable to the point I fell asleep! Woke up with a killer cut, clean shave, exfoliated and washed my face and hair. If you never been pampered I recommend you give this place a try!

    All I can say is WOW , after many trial and errors with other barbershops , I left feeling great and looking even better , Nick was phenomenal and pays such attention to detail !!     Update: After coming here for years, and having my hair cut by different barbers, I am still impressed with their skill and attention to detail. Cameron did a great job today and definitely took his time on my hair and taught me how to style it properly.I love this place. Definitely worth the price. Brian is an absolute artist! The products they use are awesome too. They use a single blade razor to “edge” you up too.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Nick, my barber, understood exactly what I needed and had my hair looking like I stepped off the pages of GQ.I had a luxury haircut at the price point most places charge for a basic haircut.I was extremely impressed by Nicks skin fade. Often I find most barbers arent capable of doing skin fades; Nick however, gave me the freshest and lowest skin fade Ive ever gotten in Sarasota.The atmosphere is high class but welcoming and youre greeted by a smiling receptionist. I recommend getting the American Shave Signature Cut package and treating yourself to a luxurious haircut!

    I flew in for vacation in need of a cut and scheduled a haircut and shave with Mateo and received easily one of the best haircut and shaves I have ever had! His attention to detail, knowledge, and skill with a razor was one only a very professional and experienced barber would have! I feel like a whole new man and honestly can’t say enough how outstanding the haircut was! I highly recommend you book a service here with Mateo, you certainly will not regret it!

    I came here to the Mateo, and let me tell you this man makes haircuts a dream. He is always precise and gets me looking as Hollywood as ever. Not only does this man have skills with the fades, he has the charm and conversation to go with it.I’ve seen many great barbers but Mateo has been my go to since moving to Sarasota, if you are looking for a consistent barber to use long term and be your go to…it’s him. If your looking for a good cut while in the area… it’s him. If you just wanna have a good conversation and share stories, while getting a trim guess what.. it’s him.Very excited that Mateo has moved to such a classy establishment such as American Shave. Haircuts have gone up in price over the years but the atmosphere, value, and personalities here at American Shave will make any price you pay a bargain.

    I have been going there for a few months now and it really changed the way I get my haircut. First off the talent in the barbers is amazing especially Jake who has taken care of me a couple of times. He knew his way around a razor and lined me up good. The place it’s self is relaxing but still has that sense of maturity to it. Overall, love the place and will definitely keep coming back over and over because I found my barber

    Came with my boyfriend for a him to get a haircut and shave. he looks nice but has gotten better haircuts in 45 minutes max. Would high recommend not coming to sit in as a guest as the only seating they offer to guests is a narrow wooden bench that feels like you’re sitting on a window sill.

    American Shave is the real deal. First off, they have the best barber in Sarasota, just ask for Mateo. I lived in Sarasota for 6 months before I found Mateo, and I get a haircut every 2 weeks, so Ive tried just about all of em. Also, they offer the works so do yourself a favor and buy a package deal so you can grab a massage after your cut.

    We just moved to Sarasota and one of my concerns was finding a good place to get my haircut. I have only used two shops in the last 30 years. I was very spoiled. I could just sit down, and they did all the work, and they always did a fantastic job. Nick was great, he was able to pick up right where they left off. Only, this place was even better!!!! I have never been so pampered. Im use to getting a haircut, but nothing like this! I will return, as well as try out some of the other services they offer. I dont usually take the time to leave a review, but they deserve 5 stars!

    I love these guys. As a female, I enjoy a guys haircut and hate to get the awkward looks in a fancy salon and dont want to pay high prices. The guys at American Shave treat me like a valued customer. Brian gives me the best fade. His attention to detail is why I keep going back. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable.     Best place in town for a haircut and shave. I have been there several times with Nick and going back again in a couple weeks. He has been awesome every time. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Im sure the other hair stylists are also great, the other customers all seemed very happy every time I have been there.

    Id give 6 stars if i could. Lorenzo, the barber, was great! Such a nice dude who is a really talented barber. This place was awesome on every level. Cold brew while you wait for you cut, friendly staff, and the hair cut was the best one Ive ever got. I was checking out and expecting a $45 bill. Nope. $25.. You have to go check this place out when you need your next haircut. Ill be coming back every single time from now on. Great job guys

    My son has gone there several times now and sees Izzy upon a referral from a friend who also goes there. The environment there is clean, relaxing and inviting. The service is great! appointments are always available and there is very little to no wait when arriving and every there is friendly and helpful. My sons hair always looks great is and is exactly what he asked for.

    With 28 years of otherwise wedded bliss, the one scary aspect of my wife is her reaction to my haircuts...NO MORE as she absolutely loved how Brian made me look! He is definitely my future go-to for haircuts. He is personable and skilled, plus the front desk crew were awesome, and the whole vibe at American Shave is classy.

    Went in to sort a poor haircut from a downtown barber, Matthew went above and beyond fixing it, giving me a cut that suits my face and will be my go-to from here.     This business is an enjoyable experience and the atmosphere is very relaxing. My fiancé always requests Brian- you will never be disappointed. He also has very positive experiences with the other barbers when Brian is not available. 100% recommend the signature cut.

    Place is very classy and professional. Everyone extremely polite. I get a haircut and beard trim twice a month from Brian. He amazing and I’m sure they are all amazing but I go to Brian and would not go anywhere else. Try them out and by the way I live an hour away. So it’s definitely worth the drive

    This place definitely lives up to its name American shave. 👐 My 5 year old son got a basic fade 0 on the side 3 on top and it might be the best haircut he has ever got. Great location, great atmosphere, excellent service A++! Jessica at the front desk was very friendly and Brain the barber did an awesome job! They also have complimentary soda and beer.

    Very very good experience. First time here was nervous about a new to my hair barber, but Brian was the greatest. Him and Nick were the best and, most accomidating. As a walk in with no appointment they squeezed us into thier busy schedule, which might I add was during thier lunch break. Super clean, friendly helpful staff, nice owners with many years of experience with thier craft. You wont be disappointed with a visit here. Nice haircuts, atmosphere, and COVID CDC guidelines followed exceptionally. Will definitely be back, and recommend to any and everyone. I promise to make an appointment next time though. 😁

    I am 73 years old, and in my entire life, have never had a worse haircut. Benjamin was the barber. A nice enough person, but not a qualified barber. I will be wearing a hat for at least three weeks. I look like a squirrel. You’re nuts to go there.After I left this review I was contacted by Nick, the owner, the same evening of my experience. He met me at the shop and did a “touch up” the next day. He did the best he could and I,can now go out without a hat. I’d now go back, but ask for Nick.

    Lorenzo was fantastic! I’ve been trying to find a new place to get my 3 year old son’s hair cut. The last place cut his hair all sorts of uneven. Lorenzo was attentive and took his time. My son was so pleased with his haircut he wanted to go back right away. We definitely will return!

    I have been going to American Shave for a little over a year now. First haircut today with Andrew! Everyone there does an awesome job, but Andrew killed it today. I have never been partial as to who does my hair there, but definitely going to request Andrew from now on.Not to mention I was in a time crunch and he knocked out my hair cut and eyebrows in 30 minutes flat, and it was damn good.

    Walked in on a busy day and they were nice enough to get me squeezed in, even gave me a free shampoo as a first visit gift.     My wife found this place over a year ago for me. I didn’t know how I felt about going there but I went and Brian was and is my barber. When I tell you he is beyond a skilled barber is not doing him justice. And American shave as a barbershop is a top notch facility, I would highly recommend everyone go there and ask for Brian.

    American Shave is the best mens barber shop in Sarasota. All of the barbers are focused on high quality haircuts. The environment is relaxing, they sell great hair products, and they have complimentary beer/soda for customers. You wont find a better place in Sarasota that offers mens grooming, waxing, and massage services at a great price. Dont waste your time at another place, like Supercuts, that doesnt really care about your hair. Just spend the extra $7 at American Shave to get a much better experience. Ive been getting my hair cut by Nick for almost a year now, and he is awesome! You will not be disappointed at American Shave.

    Great location, great atmosphere, excellent service A++!My appointment was with Alex. He did a really excellent job all around. Very friendly, very precise and he really took his time and cleaned me up good. The haircut and the shave came out great and he even hooked me up with a little eye brow trim.I chose the AMERICAN SIGNATURE package which included the Signature haircut followed by a hot towel shampoo, conditioning scalp massage and hot lather neck shave. The CREW Shave products really hit it home in the fragrance department, certainly added to the relaxation factor, some great manly smelling product.The AS PACKAGE also apparently comes with a two week maintenance, not sure what that is exactly. Just saw it on their site, ill have to stop back by and find out. All that for $30 to me, was pretty damn good deal and well worth it.The ambiance was chill, laid back, and aesthetically the space was very current, reminded me of a SOHO loft space in NYC, which I dig. The local is super convenient and the rapid service was on point as well.The owner, Justin, super nice dude, rang me up, answered all my questions regarding the other services they offer and explained the membership program. Which is pretty cool. I will certainly be taking advantage of a membership plan asap as I am looking forward to utilizing the other services they have to offer.SO... final take on my experience at the AMERICAN SHAVE SHOP, lets just say this. I was in the shop yesterday morning, Monday, ugh, dragin ass. I can honestly say that when I left it might as well have been Saturday.Just taking that hour to kick back, relax and get that old school barber shop service really gave me the 180 on the rest of the day. I walked out feeling fresh, dapper and ready to go. Definitely set the tone for the week ahead.     Everytime I go its delightful I sit down pop open a FREE soda and my appointment is on time always. Nick is wonderful he knows exactly what I want and does it better than I could ever imagine and he actually knows me and remembers past conversations as opposed to barbers who are in it just for the money.over all I love this place and I will continue to treat myself to their wonderful treatments and personalities.
