    Office very clean, modern and staff was very polite. My entire appointment was very efficient and did not have any long waiting time. Doctor and his assistant were focused on what I had to say. They let me talk and explain my concerns. They didn’t rush me through the appoint to get on to the next at all. I felt heard and listened to. Very much appreciated. I will be returning. 100% recommend!

    My first visit was a very good experience. The staff were professional, pleasant, and welcoming. The Doctor was easy to communicate with, explained everything in detail, and was quite thorough. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone.

    NP Evan was very thorough explaining everything to me and was very patient throughout the whole process, very friendly as well. Zoe the esthetician explained my symptoms to me well, and educated me ! Front desk wasn’t as kind and didn’t seem happy to schedule my 3 upcoming appointments, sorry to inconvenience you with my medical needs, but they do not reflect the doctors, and back of house staff.

    Joanna removed 2 moles and sent them to pathology. One returned as a carcinoma. First let me start by saying when these amazing nurses numbed my cheek to get the biopsy I never could even tell that they touched me. From that point on through the cancer removal by the fantastic Dr Wangia I felt NOTHING. Not even after the numbness wore off. I hate having stitches removed but again it was hard to tell that this wonderful nurse even touched me. Everyone in that office from reception to surgery and aftercare could not be nicer or more understanding and have a more gentle touch. I started out with a different institute that is a cancer specialty. Every year when I went for my yearly check up they kept burning this mole and it just flattened it and all the while they never thought about taking a biopsy. My daughter convinced me to go see Joanna and I am so happy I did. Again thank you to all the staff here. If you have to have skin cancer surgery this is the place you want to be!

    I had my regular appointment with Eric Michaelis-Woodard, PA-C. Consistent with previous visits, I was received by a conscientious, skilled practitioner with exceptional bedside manner.If you are considering getting skincare treatment here, I will share this with you. Each one of my visits has been positive and warm from the staff, even when they are delivering not great news or having to slice things off of me.I have seen an experience their skill on one hand, which I absolutely appreciate. What continues to surprise me is the exceptional level of service and positivity I get from this group and Eric and his team of support.I cannot give them anything other than a five star review. Highly recommended.

    Amazing Dr. and staff. I honestly cant say enough good things. Dr. Wangia is a talented, caring and thorough surgeon. Bree, Tina, Tonya and everyone else was awesome. Thank you Bree for the the chips 😁 If you need a Mohs procedure, definitely recommend. 5 + stars.

    Dr. Ukatu is a caring, phenomenal dermatologist. She is very knowledgeable about African American skin disorders. I felt very comfortable expressing my concerns. Office has plenty of parking. Staff was very attentive and welcoming as well.

    Dr. Ukatu was fantastic. I have struggled to find a dermatologist that really cared about wellbeing and not just trying to sell products or services, and Dr. U met my expectations and more.     This was my first time with office and I have to say they are wonderful. The entire staff is friendly. The office is beautiful. I have been in many different Dermatology offices and this one is by far the best one. I saw Eric for my first appointment and he was absolutely amazing. He was very thorough with my exam and listening to everything I was concerned about. They had to take 4 biopsies and it was very painless. I did however have an issue that came up and he took the time to explain my options. Eric is very good at what he does. Devon was great to his medical assistant and very professional. Will be back for my 6 month check up. Thank you for an easy appointment that normally stresses me out! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    My son has been a patient at this practice for years. He has several serious health issues. Dr. Wangia and his staff took the time to meet with us, go over his treatment options and explain his condition in detail. Sometimes, he needs to be seen ASAP, Dr. Wangia and his PA, Eric, make sure that happens. I cannot thank them enough for their patience, professionalism and care that they provide to my son. Also, if you ever have a problem, ask for their office manager, Tonya, and she will get your situation remedied ASAP! This really an exceptional office!

    FIANLLY an office that gets it! Im a new patient and had my first appointment with Dr. U this past week. I had to wait over 2 months to see her, which isnt ideal but common everywhere now a days.The location is very clean and as comfortable as a doctors office can be. The front desk staff are helpful and willing to give you the time of day. But the best part is, they are ON TIME. I was shocked to be taken back only a few minutes after my appointment time started. Most offices will make you wait upwards of an hour after your scheduled time even to be taken back. Not here!Dr. U and her medical assistants were so personable and helpful and you can tell they truly care. Very thorough and willing to answer questions and talk through solutions. Thank you for giving your patients the expereince they deserve!

    Im so very glad to have found this place! I couldnt find a Black dermatologist in Jacksonville! Thats important to me because who gets melanated skin better than a melanated doctor? Drs Wangia and Ukatu are beyond dope! I dont mind driving 2 hours to have my skin examined by them because they get it! I can feel that they get it, and thats why Ill keep coming back! ✌🏿✌🏿✌🏿

    Amazing care! Went from biopsy to cancer removal in 3 weeks. The excision went through a new tattoo and the doctor took a ton of care to line up everything so it wasn’t super noticeable.

    Superior care and pleasant experience from the initial greeting at the front desk.Very professional and charismatic Medical Assistant. Excellent Doctor with superior medical and humanitarian skills. The only area that needs improvement is the extended waiting period.It took over 1 hour of waiting time from the point of registering and the Medical intervención. If you require a 15 minutes arrival time before the appointment. You should also be punctual on your time management. 30 minutes or less waiting time for a scheduled appointment is tolerable. Anything over 1 hour needs improvement.

    I cannot say enough good things about this facility! I have been hunting for a dermatologist like this for 20 years and finally found my forever home! Lol From Winnie at the front desk who was incredibly pleasant when taking my first call and schedule my appointment, to Ciara my medical assistant and Joanna the nurse practitioner, who were very thorough, professional yet friendly and welcoming. The entire staff was great and answered all my questions and took care of all my needs. Highly recommend them!

    Dr. Alexander has been treating my condition for 1 year. She is an incredible and very knowledgeable physician who strives for excellence in her patient care. She gets 5 stars from me. She is a wonderful patient advocate and worked hard to get me approved for a medication that I needed for my skin condition. She has literally been a life saver. I just found out today that she is no longer working at this practice. To say I’m devastated is an understatement. I haven’t had the best luck finding a knowledgeable dermatologist in the past until I found her. It took me over 40 years to get a correct diagnosis and she was able to diagnose me correctly on the first visit. This practice was lucky to have her and she will be sorely missed. I appreciate everything she has done for me.

    Great experience because I was so nervous and had never had this procedure before and Dr. Wangia and his staff were great.My appointment was for 11:45 am, did not get out of there till 7:30, was a very long wait but that goes with the territory to make sure face was free and clear of skin cancer.Will be back 10/3 to finish the other side of my face :)

    I came here a few months ago for a skin rash, Joanna was really nice and helpful and it has healed up now. My last check up is next month, and everybody here is super friendly.The only issue I had was on my last visit was paying, when the receptionist asked me to read out all my card info, as a former receptionist myself I don’t think that was appropriate as even people in the waiting room can take your information too. I think it’s more a matter of privacy and what is appropriate.

    Dr. Wangia is an excellent doctor but the wait time is not. My last 2 visits I was waiting over an hour after being checked in at the front desk. The last time I had to leave without seeing the doctor. They called about 15-20 minutes after I left to say the doctor was available now which was too late because I had other errands to run. Their next appointment would not be until September (over 4 months away).

    I had to share my wonderful experience I had at this office. Somehow, I was inappropriately scheduled for an important appointment. When I went to the office yesterday it was then revealed to me of this error. The office manager Tanya came into the room and started to say “ I am sorry but…” I felt a bit defeated and thought this was not going to end favorable for me. Tanya allowed me to discussed what and when everything Happened. With all of this information she understood that me as a patient followed all the right steps. A procedure that almost did not happen, Tanya went and above and beyond to ensure that my needs were taken care of. I am truly impress with this office. The entire staff from front to back is top notch. I will definitely return for any dermatological needs and also refer family and friends.

    Everyone was super friendly and efficient. Especially Dr.Alexander. She is very knowledgeable about my diagnosis (LS) when most doctors have never seen a case. She was quickly able to figure out that new problem was not related to my LS and the best way to clear it up the new skin condition.The only issue I had was on my follow up visit.... I had never seen a Dermatologist before so I had a couple other things to discuss with her but we were rushed out due to the office being extra busy. In fact, there was a line to check out and I couldnt wait. I go back in 6 months and will be sure to let them know I need a full exam.

    My experience with the doctor and staff were phenomenal. The office was very aesthetically pleasing as well. However, the office was super busy and I had trouble finding parking.     Got an appointment to see Eric in only 2 days. Into examining room early for history and Eric followed shortly thereafter. Very thorough exam. Took 3 biopsies and used liquid hydrogen to freeze other irregular eruptions explaining as he worked. To return in a year if biopsies negative.

    I dont often write reviews BUT if you are a patient out there looking for a Dermatologist please schedule with Florida Institute of Dermatology. The office is clean, the staff is NICE, and the doctor is Amazing. I recently went through something scary for me but they were there for me. It was such a blessing to know that Florida Institute had my back every step. I NEVER got the impression they were to busy for me or I was just a number. Many doctors are great until you have a problem. NOT THIS PLACE. The care I received is top notch. Please give them a try. You deserve a medical care team like this. PS.     Had a great experience on my visit on 10/26/23 for acne issues with Dr. Joanna. She was so detailed in explaining my acne diagnosis and treatment plans. I was so impressed as my previous dermatologist did not even take a close up look at my acne it was more just writing Rx which I wasn’t best for me cause no two person issue is the same. But I appreciate Dr. Joanna for being so professional and the staff was great also, looking forward for my ongoing visits.

    So thankful this practice was my first Dermatology experience The office is very clean and beautiful. The staff was very welcoming and helpful from the front desk to my provider.     Today was my first appointment with Dr. Wangia and all I can say is....Wow. The service, kindness, and friendliness started with the manager/receptionist Tonya to the nurse and doctor were by far the greatest I have ever received. All the staff were extremely professional and personable. I spoke with Tonya several days prior to set my appointment and told her my specific needs and time I needed to leave the office to get home for my husband to go to work, and she made sure it all happened exactly as I requested! She sent me all of my paperwork ahead of time and my medical release forms and contacted me immediately after I sent them to her. She took care of this in a timely manner and was extremely friendly. Dr. WANGIA was so thorough, considerate, caring and professional. He really took the time to LISTEN and hear my concerns and recommended various solutions. He also took the time to examine my skin, get to know me briefly, and show me on my face the specific areas that needed treatment and stated what types of acne it was.     Just wanted to take a moment to let people know how great my experience is with this practice in general and with Eric and Susan specifically.Eric Michaelis-Woodward (PA-C) is so good at what he does, that when I realized he was no longer at my local dermatologist, I tracked him to this practice, where he’s been for about a year now, just so I could remain his patient. He communicates amazingly, has a stellar bedside manner, and most importantly is incredibly knowledgeable.Susan worked along side him and was also all of these things as well. These two make an incredible team.As far as the rest of the practice goes, I also can’t recommend Florida Institute of Dermatology enough.     This location has the best staff. They are tentative, kind and thorough in every regard. I had to get stitches in my upper thigh and after the procedure the surgeon gave me an emergency line to reach him if anything went wrong. Unfortunately the stitches became infected due to too much movement in the area, when I reached out to the doctor he immediately called in to the pharmacy what I will need to heal the wound and the infection. I am so grateful for this team. Another huge shout out to Dr. Eric, he did my original biopsy’s and he strives to make his patient comfortable and at ease. He is the only doctor I haven’t passed out and had a seizure with when given a shot. He is a professional who can calm even the biggest fears one may have.     My pediatrician gave us a referral to Dr Wangia for my baby. He assured me that he was good with babies. I hadnt even gotten the chance to call into the office to make the appointment, and I received a call that they received our referral and they wanted to get us the first appointment available.     Dr. Wangia & MA Tatiana have to be the best care you can receive from a dermatology practice and maybe even a medical office for miles. It’s really hard to find good care that will properly go through all of your questions and actually assess them and not blow them off. I came in for my yearly skin check which Dr. Wangia took his time evaluating anything that looked abnormal and answering my questions. He was also able to evaluate and treat my adult acne that had recently flared up again.     My first visit here- the wait was a bit longer than expected, but worth it. (About an hour) - which they did have a sign on the door stating they were short staffed, and the waiting room was full when I got there, so it was pretty obvious from the jump that I’d be waiting a while.**Jamesia and Eric were 10 stars!He apologized twice for my wait and addressed all of my concerns- acne and full body exam. I barely felt the needle stick by Jamesia for mole removal. Great personalities too.I am already seeing results on my face, which was the main issue I had. So grateful for that.I’ll update my review once I go back next month for the checkup.Update. 2nd visit- about 8 months later.I called at 8:05 am because I had a spot show up that concerned me.They got me in same day, at 11:15.     Let me start off by saying this office is absolutely beautiful and the employees who work here make it outstanding. Each visit I’ve had here, for both medical or cosmetic purposes, I left the office with a smile. Joanna ARNP and Dr. Wangia make a fantastic team. My wart never came back and my Botox (which was performed by Joanna NP) was the best treatment I’ve had yet. I will definitely be back and look forward to my next visit.

    So happy and relieved to get the professional treatment and relief for the chronic itching suffered by both me and my husband.     My experience at the Florida Institute of Dermatology Winter Garden has been second to none! I said my prayers the night before, and called the next day and was greeted by friendly and professional staff! Tonya was very understanding and accommodating.     I’ve been seeing dermatologists since the 1980s and find Dr. Wangia and his staff extremely professional, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Wangia’s exam was the most extensive and thorough exam I ever remember having and he took the time to explain my different skin cancers and options for treatment. Procedures performed today were virtually painless.His staff also takes the time to make you feel comfortable and answer all questions regarding treatment procedures, post op treatment and insurance issues.Highly recommend and definitely worth the hour drive I travel each way.

    First I want to say Dr. Wangia is great.April I went in for a skin cancer check. This was the first time someone actually biopsied my scalp and checked and told me I didnt have what others stated I have. Very attentive and just, such a amazing office experience. The only negative is if you have florida blue call your insurance company and make sure, 110% that if a code is ran to them that it will go through fine. I originally had a 1 star review from dealing with a billing issue from April. After emailing and the review the office manager (different from billing manager) spoke in great detail with me about the issues and assured me it is being taken care of. Because billing is a seperate office from them, she was unaware of this issue and after being made aware is working on it.Again, I do highly recommend this practice and after going to 3 other practices in the area, this is the only one I would trust.

    I went to FL Institute of Dermatology this summer for the first time for my annual skin check. Unfortunately, I had to get a couple of biopsies and procedures done a couple of weeks after my skin check. I was anxious for the procedures and for getting back results from the biopsies, but Dr. Wangia and his team were SO friendly and talked through everything with me in detail. They made sure I was as comfortable as I could be at all times.Wait times in the office can be a little bit long every once in a while, but it is worth it because of the time and care that you receive from Dr. Wangia.     Dr. Wangia is very knowledgeable and takes pride in his work no matter the skin tone! My biggest issue was very noticeable acne & hyperpigmentation. After months of trying to clear it on my own I seen no results. After seeing Dr. Wangia I was 90% cleared of my acne & hyperpigmentation within a month! I followed the skin care regimen he had set forth for me & couldn’t have seen better results elsewhere! The office is very clean & nicely decorated. The service is great over the phone & in person. Tanya (front desk) has always made me feel comfortable when I would come in, from great conversations to great service! I’d highly recommend to anyone!     As a man of African American and Native American decent it is imperative to have a dermatologist that truly understands skin conditions that are prevalent in darker complexion people.     This one off the most satisfying visit to a Doctor I have made in years. Dr Wangia was recommended by personnel physician and what great recommendation it was, His know and positivity is infectious ( pun) diagnosis and prescription and with n 2 visits my skin cleared up and keeps getting better have never seen results like this after 7 years and bad treatments from other Doctors .
