The office in Lake Nona is clean and beautifully decorated and maintained, and they even offer coffee while you wait!Before seeing Dr. Patel, his technician, Dennis, took great care to evaluate my vision. I had lasik done about a month ago and I’m seeing better than 20/20, despite walking in with two different astigmatisms. Normally I would be receiving this treatment in the UK but as I am here in Florida for an extended period, I sought help from Lake Nona Ophthalmology.Delighted with the care and courtesy I received from Dr Patel and all his colleagues. Availability of the drug I needed was not an issue either. All in all a great experience.…..October 14 I went for the second injection. My remarks are absolutely as they were six weeks ago, above.

I wasn’t be able to give my review right away after my surgery due busyness . The clinic itself is super clean and organized and spacious. I had a Great Experience. Called in timely manner with appointment . Staffs are very nice and friendly specially Beatriz, the Clinic Manager. She is part of the process of my eye care. She is fun and very knowledgeable in managing everything in the clinic. She took care of me real good of my eye care all the instructions, take measurements from Day 1 , until I am completely locked . I took the new technology of eye care called “ Adjustable Lens “ that takes 4-6 weeks process depends on the progress of your eye surgery includes scheduling . I choose this plan due of not wanting to wear eye glasses again and it is successful . Dr. Chariq Patel is very patient , listens and explains well the disadvantage and advantage in every plans and answers all your concerns. , he is great , very confident and super knowledgeable in every eye care needs. Dr. Ahmed was also my post doctor and he is also very good and nice. I have no much words to say but I HIGHLY recommended Lake Nona Opthalmology for your eye care bec they can answer anything you need as far as eye care is concern. Yesterday is my final process of adjusting my lens. I am finally not wearing an eye glasses from reading to distance. Though I am in the process of waiting both my eyes to adjust for perfection and get use to it. Over All experience is superb great!!!

First time getting my eyes checked and it was amazing, to the ladies at the front desk, the technician who took all the tests and was a sweetheart, very fast service I was in and out :). Dr. Umar Ahmed was very thorough and explaining everything to me and also very sweet, thank you so much doc! I was anxious for my first visit and he was able to lift a weight off my shoulders. Very clean and immaculate location, and the med spa looked pretty cool too. I will definitely be going back and recommending family and friends. 10/10!!

Both the doctor and another staff member transferred her. The treatment Dr. Ahmed prescribed is conservative and more agreeable than her previous ophthalmologist’s recommendations. The office staff is top-notch, too. They were exceedingly kind, gracious and generous with us at every turn, especially after a stressful afternoon. I had a horrible experience at Dr Ly Nyguyen’s office. She made me miss two weeks of work because she canceled on me two Fridays in a row saying she was “sick” so I had called eight other ophthalmologists in the area and they couldn’t take me until May. I went on a Facebook group and saw he had really good reviews and he was highly recommended and I had called and the very next day got an appointment for him to see my daughter. the office was beautiful and clean beautiful artwork on the walls the technician Beatrice was super friendly and they have a patient for life. I had initially seen Dr Patel a couple of years ago for a possible foreign body in my eye and after he took great care of me i always thought of doing LASIK. From pre meetings to the procedure itself to post op evals the entire team was amazing. They kept in constant touch with me to make sure i was doing well. The front office staff were always smiling and my appointments were alway on time. Beatrice (office manager) was always friendly and is such a wonderful person and personable. I loved working with her. Dr Patel never rushed my appointments and gave ample time to ask my questions and to answer them. Even after the procedure the whole team including Dr Ahmed were helpful and never dismissed my concerns. Im now almost 3 weeks post -op and everyday my sight gets better and better. UPDATE: I have now had both my cataracts removed. The experience for the second one was exactly the same as the first.The front staff, and manager are always personable, friendly and you feel cared for.At my third day, by the late afternoon, I could see so clearly. It’s absolutely amazing to have clear vision after a simple and common surgery. I have taken my son to Lake Nona Ophthalmology twice and he received excellent care. The first time was due to my son having gotten a paper cut to the eye. That was the first time we met Dr. Patel. He was very thorough in his examination and clearly explained his diagnosis as well as took his time answering our questions. The same thing was true the second time we were there. In addition, he engaged my son in conversation and showed interest in him which made for a good doctor/patient relationship. All the staff were helpful and accommodating and it was easy to get an appointment. Now my husband also goes to Dr. Patel and was very happy with his experience.

This Dr and staff are excellent! Let me start by saying I was turned down by another Dr for cataract surgery for not being honest about my expectations after surgery and being a pain about what the costs would be and I have insurance! So glad I did not go with that Dr! I was referred to Dr Patel by my personal eye Dr another amazing Dr Dr Seaman of Eyedeal Vision who I also highly recommend! So glad he did! Dr Patel and his staff are excellent! Very patient and always willing to give you time whether its about the procedure or the billing. When it comes to Dr Patel he never made me feel rushed about what I wanted to do. When I decided to possibly have one eye for distance and the other for reading he actually gave me contacts to wear for a week to see if I liked it! And when it came to the surgery at the surgery center all the nurses said he is their favorite Dr always super prepared and efficient and makes their job easier and that I was lucky to have him! Dont be fooled by the big Drs with lots of commercials come see Dr Patel! In Lake Nona!

Compassionate and provided solutions. I had my first appointment at the office today. The staff is friendly and diligent. I had eye pressure measured and drops for dilation given prior to meeting with Dr. Patel. I have a medical issue since childhood and it has progressed. I was very saddened because of the new findings related to my eye health. I cried. Dr. Patel was compassionate and caring and calmed me and listened to my point of view and hardship. He recommended several options of treatment to try and re-evaluate. I left the practice feeling hope. Thank you Dr. Patel!

It’s easy to find a dr, but not easy to find a competent, knowledgeable, kind PHYSICIAN. I am new to the area and had a problem I knew could be serious because of past experience and warnings. After reviewing a few websites and ratings, I chose Dr Patel at Lake Nona Ophthalmology. I called at 3 pm and had an emergency appt at 9:30 am the next day! All the comments are correct - a very clean office, great staff and, despite the rare remark, a minimal wait.Dr Patel did not hesitate to refer me to a retinal specialist he trusts. He also asked that I review the retinal scan images to help me understand my problem.Most of all, he reassured me that currently I had no serious problems and fully explained why my sight was compromised.I live in St Cloud area. The 30 minute travel time was well worth It!

Dr Patel saved my vision. I cannot thank him enough! The first week of January I suffered a pretty horrific eye injury playing Dek Hockey. I was struck directly in my left eye by a hard plastic ball traveling at 30-40mph. I was immediately blind in my left eye as it filled with blood. I went to the ER at ORMC and Dr Patel was called when it was determined by CT scan that I had a 5mm tear on my eyeball on the back side. He arrived to the hospital very quickly after they called him. He took me to surgery and repaired my torn eyeball. Discharged me at 330am and saw me back at his office for a follow up 7hrs later. He referred me to a retina specialist for further evaluation. I’m happy to say that not only has my vision returned as of yesterday I’m 20/25 in an eye that I was blind in not too long ago. He’s amazing. Thank you Dr Patel for being there 24/7 for those in need of your services!!
