    Shalana and A Nu Twist Salon are amazing!!!First time ever getting my hair braided, i was scared, nervous, didnt know what to ask. I walked in and she hooked me up, made me feel comfortable and took me in as a Walk-in. 15 mins later I was looking fresh and clean.

    It was AMAZING!!!!!! I have never been to a salon that made me feel so welcomed. I was came in to a very warm greeting from Antoine. I am was pleased with the way he treated me throughout my service. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you get a service at this salon. Hands down the best place for us natural folk. Antoine is GREAT and I love his personality. Keep up the good work A Nu Twist Salon Team!!!!

    Antoinette and her staff are phenomenal with the services they provide. I stumbled upon A Nu Twist almost 6 years ago. I drive the 1.5 hour for servicing as there is nine better in the Southern Region regarding natural hairstyles.Make an appointment and I am certain you will be well pleased.

    I was going to cut my hair but instead got a trim, after learning that my hair is just fine and that I need to continue basic haircare methods (taking vitamin, drinking water, using raw aloe, etc.)Location: Its and odd location, but Im not going to complain for several reasons:1. The salon vibe. Everyone is nice and full of energy. And the salon itself is cozy.2. Ebony did a fantastic job with flat ironing and curling my hair. She styled my hair in a style that lets me wear my hat easily (I like to wear hats). I already plan to come back again.3. I didnt feel judged or embarrassed with my hair.4. They checked temperatures and followed the CDC guidelines.5. They had the t.v. on. Honestly, I was happy with that cause I get bored easily on my phone.6. Their appointment planning system is more organized.7. I got a call the day I scheduled the appointment (I applied online) to talk about what I want for my hair. I appreciate stuff like that.

    I love, love, love, A Nu Twist Salon! The owner, Antionette is a miracle worker when it comes to hair. My daughters hair was thinning and in bad shape from all the years of me trying to take care of it. I wish you could see her hair today. It is long, luscious, and natural!     Great experience with Patties. She made my first chop comfortable and amazing. I love my taper hair cut! Also she was flexible in time staying late (appt was after 6 pm) ans very clean. COVID approved procedures!

    Antoinette is amazing! The main difference between A Nu Twist and other salons that I have visited is the major emphasis on the health of your hair. I love that she explains to me what she is doing to my hair and why. I trust her and I know that I will always be happy with my style and the health of my hair.

    I have been going to this salon for 14 years. Since I was in college in Gainesville. The prices were lofty at the time but I always felt it was well worth it even on a fixed income. It is the most professional, well managed, relaxing salon I have experienced. Although I have moved literally hours away at different times in these years, I still return to Antoinettes Anu Twist. No other place quite compares. I never have to wait and my hair is alway beautiful when I leave. This place is worth the drive.

    It can be challenging to get an appointment, but only because theyre popular. Antoinette offers discounts for students, and overall she left a good impression. She invited me to sit in the salon room where she was attending a few other ladies instead of letting me wait by the reception desk which was nice because Im quiet and will absolutely sit somewhere pretending to be invisible like a fool. Shes only one of two hairdressers Ive been to in Gainesville that have even mentioned the term curl patterns, which just goes to show how few hairdressers here actually understand the nuances of curly hair, and mine isnt even that complicated.If you have curly hair, I recommend you go here because everywhere else Ive been in this city including places that claim to specialize in curly hair are underwhelming on a good day. All you get are ladies with natural loose beach waves claiming to be curly hair experts because theirs is exactly the same texture and thickness, even though it clearly isnt, so itll be just like cutting their own hair. As if I wont find out in 20 minutes that we live in completely different realities. Im glad Antoinette has somewhere for us lost souls to go for help.

    Very nice. Ms Pattie Williams is one of the beautician at this salon. When you first walk in she take your temperature she wear a mask and she ask you to wash your hand before she gets started. I feel safe when Im at that salon.

    Ive been going to ANUTWIST for almost 2 years now and I love this place. They primarily focus on natural hair but are gifted in all types/textures of hair and styles you can think of. I get my locs groomed by Antoinette and she is one of the most sweetest and down to earth people Ive encountered. Shes very knowledgeable about natural hair and keeps me updated on certain hair care products and what to do in order to keep my hair Happy and Healthy. I appreciate Antoinette and all the staff at ANUTWIST. They are awesome!

    I ABSOLUTELY love my starter locs and bomb style from Shalana!! She took her time to explain EVERY step and even took pics with my phone to assure I was completely satisfied. She also made me feel more comfortable and ready for the journey. I will absolutely be back to further my loc journey with a nu twist!!
