I was able to make an informed decision about getting sister locs and she answered all of my questions. The install was quicker than I expected and the environment was relaxing. I began my research into natural hair alternatives in 2022 when my hair started falling out due to an unwanted trim by a previous stylist. I knew I wanted something that was low maintenance and found Sisterlocks as a solution. I had seen several different Loctitians who told me my hair (pics provided) was way too short to start any kind of lock and to try and grow it out before attempting this journey.Well, that was not really a possibility for me as my hair was constantly falling out and not growing. I finally found Locs by Lawanda and did my consult on May 23, 2023. I discussed what I knew and she was very open and detailed about the process and lifelong maintenance of Sisterlocks. I told her my concerns about having to wait because of the length of my hair and she thought it was crazy when I told her no other Loctitian would help. She told me there was more than enough to work with and on July 5, 2023, I started my 2-day install.Its been 8 months and my hair is doing something I hadnt thought possible: growing and looking healthier than it has in years and I couldnt be more grateful for Lawanda and her amazing expertise. Not only did she believe she could help me and my situation, but she also educated me about my dry scalp and found solutions to help control it. She is not only a Loctitian but an instructor as well, teaching others the art of Sisterlocks. She is very knowledgeable, professional and takes pride in her work.If youre in doubt about starting because youve met with the same resistance about the length of your hair, I URGE you to reach out to Lawanda first before giving up. After researching sisterlocks for 2years….On 2/19/24 I started my loc journey.I had the pleasure of having Lawanda install my sister locks. Lawanda was very knowledgeable and professional she made my experience very enjoyable, over the 2 day install she scheduled in breaks and lunches each day to make sure that we were both getting up and moving around. The education that she provided to me as she worked quickly through the install was much needed she assured me that this journey would be exciting and she would be there to support me along the way. CONSULTATION: I left my Sisterlocks consultation feeling even more confident about moving forward with my Sisterlocks journey decision. Lawanda truly took the time to go in depth with the history , showed me pictures , illustrations and she answered all my questions . And , she gave me the reassurance to contact her if any other questions or concerns came to mind post consultation . This was the top 🔝 notch point for ME because I felt her compassion, sincerity & honesty for her profession being a certified Sisterlocks consultant when she answered my questions and gave advice and for me it was a green light because that’s a very BIG DEAL for me being a “straight up “ person ! Five Star Service! Classy! Experienced! Lawanda was a true professional. She was very helpful throughout process. During my consultation she made me feel relaxed and answered any concerns I might have. Days before my appointment she sent a reminder of my appointments and expectations. The day of my appointment I packed my lunch and prepared for a long day, surprisingly after talking, and laughing the day was not long at all. She gave me her undivided attention and focused was all on me! We paused for a lunch-break, then started back. The next day the same process, towards the end she begin sharing how much she had remaining. This was comforting to know we was near the end. LaWanda made all my anxiousness go away because she communicated the entire process. I’m extremely pleased with my results, and can’t wait until the growth begin!

After researching sisterlocks, I knew I had to have them. Four years later I decided to take that leap. I went on the sisterlocks web page to research consultants in the area. After looking Lawanda up on FB and IG, I just knew I had to choose her as my sisterlocks consultant. I called and scheduled at consultation. My first verbal impression was that she was very knowledgeable in her work and seemed very personable. During the first phone conversation I explained to her that I was a new mother and would need time to pump as I am exclusively breastfeeding. She was absolutely fine with that. Days prior to my consultation date, I received a confirmation text filled with information about sisterlocks. During the consultation she answered my many questions, we discussed pricing, I received additional literature and test locks were established. We set my install date out 2 weeks over a 2 days period. On the day of install, I arrived on time and we started on time ( I loved this about her). She has a salon set up in her home (Very clean). There is privacy so I chose to pump as she worked. She even let me store my breast milk in her refrigerator rather than with my ice pack . During the install she worked hard to ensure the parts were straight and centered. She also worked fast and we had scheduled breaks throughout the process. The first day lasted about 9 hours and day 2 lasted about 4 hrs. During the whole process Lawanda remained timely and very professional. I vibe with her personality and I am so glad I chose her as my sisterlocks consultant! This was the best hair decision I have made in a long time. My first 4 week retight was included in the original pricing and that session lasted a little under 2 hrs. I am now a little over 5 weeks locked and I am so I love with my hair. My consultant is in constant contact with me getting updates on my hair progress, along with giving suggestions. I would definitely recommend Lawanda to anyone looking to start the sisterlocks journey. At the time of my install she was a trainee.
