I love that we have a salon dedicated to children. Getting a kid’s haircut can be a frightening and stressful experience, but Pigtails & Crewcuts - Lake Nona does an awesome job making it a better experience for both the parent and child. They have toys in both the waiting room and in the salon chairs to preoccupy the kids. Melinda did an amazing job with my 16-month old! She was patient and friendly. My son didn’t whine or shed a single tear. We will always come back to this salon for his haircuts.

It was super easy to book an appointment online. This was our first time and definitely wont be our last. My 19 month old came back looking so cute. He was a little nervous but the staff know what they are doing and have plenty there to help keep a toddler distracted enough to get the cut done. Marta and Rosanna were nothing short of amazing. My one year old had his first haircut on his 1st birthday and Marta made it extra special and did an absolute wonderful job with his wiggling. She made him feel super comfortable, and made it fun to the point he loved his 1st haircut. Rosanna cut my baby girls hair which was also her first haircut. She made her so happy by giving her the princess treatment. After the cut, she even french braided her hair an added little bows for fun. They both made sure to keep the cutest curl from their cuts and took their time to take the perfect picture for me. Then gave me a first haircut certificate with the date on it. It was worth every penny! I will continue to go there with them, until they are too old to fit in those cute salon chairs.

Great, fun atmosphere for kids with a great waiting/play room with a big train set. All the stylists are excellent and patient with the little ones. My son is still iffy about getting his hair cut and can get a bit nervous. The three times we have been, the staff has always been so kind to him. They take their time to show them their tools and make him more comfortable. We are very pleased with the quality of the cuts as well as service and atmosphere.

They have a My first haircut package that was amazing. It was $32 dollar and included a certificate, picture, and lock of her hair from the first cut. They also gave her gitter and ribbons in her hair.They have a play room if you have more than one kids, which is pretty private. My wife used it to breast feed.

My 4 year old has autism. I spoke to the staff in advance about my son and they were so understanding and accommodating. The hair stylist was patient and kind. She even counted along with my sons RBT while she cut his hair. She was also really quick and my sons hair came out awesome. She was amazing!! I could go on and on about it. Lol Seriously though, the overall experience was fantastic. This will now be my sons place to cut his hair until he turns 16. Hahaha

We had an absolutely FANTASTIC experience with Lyndsey R!!! She was extremely patient for our sons first haircut. We got to pick his favorite TV show to calm him and the little vehicle he got to sit in! They had a bubble machine for when he got upset! There was a treasure chest at the end and they printed out his picture and gave us a little curl to keep! This whole experience was amazing! 10/10! We will absolutely be going back! It was well worth the 45 minute drive!

Absolutely loved this place, the atmosphere and how friendly everyone was from the time I called until we left. I was super nervous how the hairstylist would be with a 1 year old getting their first haircut especially with curly hair but everyone immediately put me at ease. The haircut package with the certificate is a must if it’s your child’s first haircut and you want a keepsake. My son was great, the atmosphere was great. We will be back for future haircuts.. 10/10 just bring your child. My son’s haircut looks sooo good! Totally wish we had this sort of shop when I was a child. Glad I was able to find this place.

The stylist did a great job with my daughter! She was very patient and professional. We came here for my daughters first hair cut. She was fussy and moving around alot. The stylist made us feel comfortable and assured us her behavior is expected. I could tell she knew what she was doing! I cant say enough about Alba! I took my 21 month old son for his first cut and I just couldnt cut his curls in the back so we went with a mohawk mullet type look and I LOVE it! Turned out better than I hoped. He got a little nervous with the clippers, but Alba was so calm, patient and gentle with my son. Love her!

I didn’t tell Alba my baby has speech delay and has Autism-high functioning and I went expecting to have a difficult time since she is very active and is not too kin on me messing with her hair. Melinda cut our 2 year olds hair, it was his first time and he did so well. They really have a beautiful environment for kids. Plenty of things to distract them and fun environment. Melinda cut his hair with scissors and small quiet clippers for the nape of the neck. He didnt cry once and Melinda was so patient and willing to work with whatever Sebastian needed. They allowed us, the parents, to be a part of the cut and it felt so warm and welcoming. Definitely recommend to any worried parents seeking a safe place. Autism friendly.

This was my daughter’s first haircut. I was late for my appointment but they fit us in. Ms Alba was amazing. She communicated every step of the process with my little girl and made her feel right at home. I have no clue how she was able to get such a good cut from a two year old who barely stays quiet. She even gave her two pigtails and some pretty pink bows. I highly recommend this place. Even the receptionist was so communicative and friendly through the whole process. They gave us a picture and a lock of my baby’s hair to remember this experience. Plus, if you are struggling like me to find good hair products that are safe and work for your little ones, they carry amazing options!

Haiti cut my sons hair. It was absolutely perfect! She was very detailed and careful as she cut- he was moving all over the place. My son loved the waiting area which has a playroom. The chairs are different cars, trains etc which is very cute. All he could talk about the next day was going back to get his haircut again. I’ll be back and definitely recommend! I am so happy my sister recommended this place. My 2 year old scare of getting haircuts and cries every time. Since the pandemic started I found myself not taking him anywhere. His hair was really long so I decided to bring him here and I am glad I did. Alba cut his hair and she was wonderful, Love the haircut. Even though he still cried through the whole thing, she was friendly and patient; unlike other places I been. They follow safety protocols so I felt safe to bring him here. Definitely will be back.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I so would! I would like to first start off that the place is clean and bright very welcoming. My two year old HATES haircuts and is very sensitive to somebody touching his head so it’s a very stressful time for everyone. Chantel C. was so kind and listened to our concerns. She made sure my son was as comfortable and distracted as much as possible and was so understanding. The teamwork as well was FANTASTIC. I wish I got the name of the other kind lady helping distract my son. This was hands down the best haircut and haircut experience my son and I have had! I will be coming back and definitely recommend anyone that has children with sensitivities to go to this salon!

We were greeted before we even walked through the door. It was very clean and professional and great for the kids. There was a play room/waiting room that we took full advantage of and the bathroom was fully stocked with everything a baby/toddler needs. I had forgot wipes and they had some by the changing station that was super clean. My son was not having the hair cut but the stylist was super patient and the staff was amazing. We will def be coming back

Fast and great service, as always! Melinda is the best and our kids are not the easiest but she has handled them so well ever since day 1. One of them has completely lost his fear of haircuts with her already. The other one has sensory issues and autism (low-functioning and nonverbal) but she has her ways and can turn a very stressful situation into a pleasant one. She gets it done at record speed which really helps and they always come out looking adorable! As long as Melindas around, well never go anywhere else. Were so lucky we found her. Truly so talented and wonderful!

I couldnt recommend them enough. My son is 3 years old and autistic, which means haircuts usually involve a lot of crying and overall horrible experience for him. I have been here about 3 times with great experiences. All the staff is very patient, helpful and always goes above and beyond for us. The staff takes extra precautions due to COVID of course as well. I do have to give a special mention to Melinda, who we had last time. She was an angel and I have never seen someone so patient with my son. She kept him entertained with her techniques and was very accommodating to his needs. For the first time he didnt cry and nor was traumatized like usual. Will be taking him and my daughter from now on

Angela was absolutely amazing! Both of my girls looked adorable with their new haircuts! She listened to what each of my girls wanted since they have their own unique style. That aspect of the experience was very important to me. Also, she gave each a braid with their choice of ribbon color as a finishing touch. My girls left their appointments feeling extra special! Overall, it was such a great experience!I also want to touch base on the experience considering the precautions with COVID-19. The salon was not overcrowded and was very clean. They took extra precautions to make sure everyone was safe; however, it was not the focus of the experience which is nice because it can be overwhelming for children. Everyone was so positive and cheerful. I definitely recommend!

A truly stellar experience. We wanted something special and kid friendly for my sons first haircut and this place truly exceeded those expectations.Appointments are easy to set up online. My son is very high energy and I was terrified he would not do well. They make this atmosphere so kid friendly that he felt right at home and comfortable. Friends and family members watching my live recording were amazed at the hair stylists expertise and ease with my ever moving toddler. They have all these fun cars for children to choose from, a shelf of toys, and TVs playing children programs. Its so inviting. They were playing Mickey Mouse Roadsters which my son loves.The hair stylist went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. She waited until my family was on to watch my Facebook live to proceed with his first haircut. She asked what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. She was amazing. She took her time and made it comfortable and special. She interacted with my son giving him toys to play with. At one point he took her comb and just starting combing his hair during the haircut and she just grabbed a new comb and let him enjoy himself. Talk about AMAZING SERVICE.For the first time haircut package they take a picture, save a piece of hair and give you a certificate. When they are done with the haircut the children get a toy out of treasure chest. They of course have shelfs of toys for sale and my son was so great I was happy to buy him a expensive toy haha. It was seriously a awesome experience and I highly suggest this establishment for your children.

Lyndsay was amazing! I literally cannot say enough good things about my experience. I have a 6 month old daughter and have been avoiding getting her ears pierced because of the pandemic. I read about all the safety precautions Pigtails and Crewcuts was doing that I decided to book my appointment. I texted when I was there and they texted when it was safe to come in. There was only one other mom and child there, and I was asked to immediately wash my hands and I social distanced. Lyndsay was amazing was my daughter, always trying to make her smile and the earrings came out great. Lyndsay wore a mask and washed her hands before the process as well. Such a cute place for my kids’ haircuts. The hairstylists are great with my kids and they always style their hair so cutely at the end with ribbon. It’s adorable.
