    Found out a few days ago that my wonderful hairdresser, Lela, passed away last month. Will miss her, she was so sweet. Yesterday I met hairdresser, Jasmine, at the same Supercuts on San Jose Blvd. She cut my hair, and did a wonderful job! She is awesome! Will be a regular customer! Thank you SO much, Jasmine!! 😊

    I had such a long morning that all I wanted was to get my hair cut then the extremely relaxing hair wash and scalp massage. The lady who cut my hair today was new to me but let me say this, she was a CUT above the rest,lol. Stupid I know but seriously she was very good at her job and on top of that she had to deal with me and my jaw being wired shut. She did it with class and a smile, she really took my mind off of my s@&t.

    I called to see if my stylish was working today, only to find out she passed away in her sleep. She had cut my hair for 2 yrs. The lady that took my phone assured me she would do a good job for me, and she did. I am going to miss Lela very much. Ill be back Hoa did a great job for me.

    I have been going to Supercuts in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville for the past three years. Ms. Lela is a wonderful lady and has been my go-to person for my haircuts every two to three weeks, She always does a great job, and with her kindness and great customer service, it is no surprise that there is often a line of customers willing to wait for her. Being in a job where it is not uncommon for people to thank me and my colleagues for our service, I definitely wanted to take the time today to thank you for yours, Ms. Lela.     I’d certainly write this w/o using a pseudonym, but it’s kind of personal. I found out by way of curiosity and other reviews that one of my most favorite people in the world had passed on. As I compose this, I can’t stop crying or get my thoughts straight. I’m on the spectrum and for almost 20 years I’ve only had haircuts from a few other stylists besides her. She was my friend, my family, and in a world not well-suited for the Neurodiverse, I could talk to her more easily than I’ve ever actually been able to in an clinical setting. Due to abuse and bullying, I have continued to crawl inside of myself as the years have passed. Accompanying this came a reduction, and eventual total loss, in social interaction. People don’t like what they don’t understand, on the whole. If I understood the nature of love or what it really means, I’d certainly say the following: I think it’s apropos to say that Lela was one of my only friends, and though I’m not totally sure, I think that I loved her as such. Perhaps I’m not correct to put it like that, but if I had some friends, I could imagine having a type of love for them. Anyway, she did more than cut my hair and talk to me and listen and remember and care, etc. Speaking for myself, it’s difficult to acquire and maintain confidence and self-esteem and a positive self-image, but when she cut my hair, I felt a certain increase in my level of confidence. Seems quite mundane, perhaps, but it meant the world to me. I don’t even know what to say to order a haircut, she just already knew. Something like this, a tragedy that most can probably get through rather quickly and involving someone who I only saw approx. every 6-8 weeks (haircut interval), has the potential and ability to upend my life. Where do I go now? What do I say? I understand that this could read as selfish, but it’s not at all. I’ll miss her terribly, and my thoughts will be with her family as they make sense of everything. The world is a bit less beautiful, less interesting, when people like her are lost before their time. Rest in peace, Lela, and thank you for being such a wonderful influence in my life. I’ll never forget you 🥺 B

    My favorite place for 20 years, but so sad Mrs. Lela my barber passed away in her sleep and so my prayers are with her heart, soul and of those who knew her and her family too. Very friendly atmosphere except for the locations manager. I was turned away on a Sunday at 4:39 but the close at 6pm and no one was in front of me but the two individuals in chairs getting their haircut and both were about done. I was asked to come back after waiting 10 minutes and I almost didnt but I noticed my barber was not there, so I went back the next day and found out she passed away from one of the employees. I give 5 stars for Mrs. Lela, but if not for her, I would give 1 star because the manager on duty on that day was rude and I guess made her tip count for the day so a quick buzz cut wasnt worth her time and so may have lost a 20 year customer actually. I will let my Son decide because he likes the place but I have not told him about Mrs Lela passing and or about my experience the Sunday following the week of October 10th 2024 which was a Thursday I believe.

    Neka my stylist was so warm and friendly. They were having a tough day there in the shop due to electrical problems. But you would never know it by her demeanor. I can get a good haircut anywhere. But I want to give my hard-earned money to someone who appreciates me giving them my patronage.

    I took my son to see Neka, and she was very alert to what his style needs were! she asked careful questions to be sure she gave him a cut that he wanted and I approved of. He has very curly hair, with a lot of length and it had been cut poorly in the past. she explained the best way to grow out sections and how to have the fade disguise some unevenness. she asked if he was keeping his beard as well, so she would know how to cut his sideburns. I appreciated her attention to detail and efficient work! thank you so much Neka!

    Lela is the best! Im trying to book with her on line this weekend , does she still work there? I cant seem to request her! I finally after 2 1/2 months picked Diana on Dec 8, 2024. I asked her where Lela has been and right when I sat in chair she said oh Lela died of a stroke in her sleep on September 8th. She should have realized Lela good clients whom love her would not want that said so non chalant to them! I burst into tears immediately! She told me a memorial was already had for her. Really??You would think the G.M. or Regional manager or the higher ups that be of your store who had one of the best hairdressers, with the most clientle, and awards she won, had a line of people waiting just for her would have thought immediately about her regular clientle, especially the ones for years who only came to your location over and over for her you would have sent us some form of letter or even text of her passing and posting on this stores website about her passing and information about her memorial! Also all the photos on your stores website? Wow, you think after the pictures of the outside and inside of your store would forever be a picture of Lela! I mean the ladies have a candle by the flowers and card basket you could copy that picture and pist it with a nice memorial to Lela! I would have in my store! Iam so upset about the loss of a wonderful lady and hairstylist who remembered each and everyone of us, chatted about our lives and hers and even if we had an appointment the busiest you would be in that store is when alot of people would patiently wait for this wonderful person! When she was in hospital and had her gallbladder out, after my appointment my husband had one with her a few hours later and we stopped and bought her a lovely floral arrangement in a vase to show her the kindness and care she showed all us and all her clientele. Im not sure I can ever walk back in there to your store. I liked Diana she did a good job on my hair, but I was barely in the chair when I was asking about Lela, and she seemed so non chalant when she told me. I told her I wish I knew about the memorial I would have went, and she told me and showed me the setup of flowers and the candle and the box of cards they were bringing down to Miami to her family around Christmas time. I believe I know she was Bosnian and I will get a card I dont know if she was Catholic but Ill probably go to the Catholic Store and probably include money to her family. But I believe out of respect for her and her clientele if youd like us still to come there I think that her chair should be set up as a appreciation to her her Section should not be used for a year leave up her plaques anything else that her family doesnt want and also let the clientle who want to bring in something small and tasteful for remembrance of her like a small wreath to hang up to rest in peace, is the least you could do for the best and busiest hair stylist you had working there. I believe that the G.M. Of this store and all the way up to the powers to be, either the owners, or franchise owners to the corporation you all really screwed up knowing she made your company alot of money, should have thought about her clientle and posted something for her even on this website to inform us about this sad tradgedy! Shame on all of you for not realizing you should have posted something here or in your store and leave the message up for at least six months or forever in Remembernce what a shame you all really screwed this beloved persons passing with her faithful clientle. Also on your photos? Immediately I would have posted her photo! There is a photo on the candle you could have made and put on your website for this store! Where I work we lost a lovely lady about 13 years ago, there is a whole wall dedicated to her with a huge framed picture, a plaque with her name and one of her server uniforms placed loving in a big glass box with her name tag and a beautiful dedication! Hopefully you know youve done wrong and will do the right thing for your Lela and maybe Ill return!

    I loved this location. The woman in charge of cutting my hair helped me despite being well past her time to leave, and was very concerned with doing with good job, even if I assured her I wasn’t picky! Anything would be better than what I came in with!     Came here around lunch time on a Saturday. I was pressed for time and couldnt get in at my normal barber. Wait time was quoted as 12 minutes at the kiosk, but I probably only waited 8 minutes. Lela cut my hair efficiently and accurately. Great service.

The lady who cut our son’s hair (her name is Dawn) advised us that it would be easier for him to style everyday if she thinned out his thick hair on the top, very thorough, no one has ever suggested that before. His hair cut looks amazing plus she was quick & talented. The lady who cut our daughter’s hair (Camisha) was amazing as well. Our daughter’s last hair cut experience before this visit was not the best ( different location).. she was very nervous to say the least. The woman was very sweet, she listened to her, told her what she was going to do before she did it, you could see how relaxed our daughter became so quickly. The hairstylist worked a miracle!! She was able to blend the uneven layers from the previous haircut, took off the exact amount of hair, then explained the best way to keep her hair looking its best. The ladies are very kid friendly at this location, they listen to them & make them feel important. I was highly impressed & I’d recommend this location over any other.

    I have always had great service at the Supercuts on San Jose Blvd. They are taking precautions sanitizing before/after each client. Dominic did my hair and he was professional and comical. Made the experience more enjoyable. He is very precise with his haircuts so you know he won’t rush it. I recommend coming here! I’ll def be back and will try to come when he’s working! :)

    My 3 year old son has sensory issues and is afraid of the clipper machine. We have been to cool kid salons and have bribed him. Yesterday, Lika gave my son a fantastic haircut and got him over his fear of the machine! She went above and beyond! I look forward to many more cuts for my family here!

    My husband needed a haircut ASAP (hes military) so we decided to go to this Supercuts on a Sunday close to closing time. I believe Katie was her name or Caitlin, I wasnt the one being attended to but she cut my husbands hair so good that I was like dang, thats my husband his hair is abit on the weird side and most cut it wrong. She did a terrific job on getting it back to where it should be. We hope to catch her again this past previous time but she may have not been working so my husband got with someone else and the haircut she gave him was weird and he looked like he got out of boot camp instead, little to no hair, it was scary for both of us honestly! Hope she still works there!

    I was reluctant to go to Supercuts to have my hair cut. A neighbor has a really cute haircut and I ask her where she gets it done and she said, Supercuts. I thought, well why not try it, since I normally pay from $35.00 to $65.00 for a cut and style and sometimes get a really bad haircut, why not? Madeline took me as a walk-in and cut and styled my hair. Cost $28.00 + tip. All I can say is, WOW! I loved it and so has everybody who has seen me since I had it done.
